  1. Come on now, the Dodgers spent over one billion dollars on two players in the 2023 offseason. For reference, this is more than an entire decade (2010-2019) of spending of the: Brewers ($912.5M), Dbacks ($912.5M), Padres ($803.5M), A's ($761.7M), Pirates ($738.2M), Marlins ($722.7M) and Rays ($671.2M). Not hard to do, when you're backed by $325 BILLION.

  2. yes it would be nice to have Soto but not 60 M a year/ A huge problem the team has is simply watching fastballs go by. Look at the final two teams. They ATTACK pitches all the time. They ain't talking first ball meatballs down the middle. They ain't taking a 2-0- fast ball down the middle with runners on. Why do the Cubs suck with RISP? They TAKE pitches and then panic when it's 1-2. The best way to slug? Swing the damn bat especially in a hitter's count. Why are the Cubs grinding against a starter? Are they trying to get into the opposing bullpen? Guess what? Those dude are coming in and they ALL throw 98. Pitchers are better and throw harder. Simply swing the bat. Bat to ball skills, the Cubs have, but again, it's easier to get a hit or slug when the ball is in play and not in the catcher's mitt. It's not rocket science. Be aggressive and attack. There's no crying in baseball on a called strike 3 that was one inch too high. So what? Swing at it, you know the ump is going to pump you anyway.
