Tennessee Titans Film Breakdown: Mason Rudolph was ROUGH in Week 7 vs. Buffalo Bills
In today’s film breakdown we look the performance of Tennessee Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph. Many Fans have been pleading for Rudolph to start over Will Levis, but based on his play against the Buffalo Bills, that doesn’t look like something that will help the Titans salvage the season. Rudolph had multiple turnover-worthy plays, inaccurate passes and slow reads. Rudolph is only a backup and therefore the expected level of play should match that, but this performance should be a sobering reality for fans hoping Rudolph could be some sort of answer for the Titans quarterback problems.

He was told Saturday.
This is day 1 for him with the 1s
So yes lack of prep for a better team is also on the head coach
Dhop 2 Chiefsš¢
Titans tanking…do not go to games…worst team Titans have ever had. Now trade all of defense rest of wide outs as well..trade TEs and shut the team down permanently. Quitting is the way to go it appears
Titan up
This is why i wantes to titans to draft washinton college qb
Sad thing is if you hit those shots consistently makes it easier on the line because the D will be hesitant to bring so much pressure.
You say Brian Callahan's play calling is good, just needs the right QB. Well how about calling plays for the QB you have and not for some ideal QB you don't have. Levis was never going to be Joe Burrow. He is a different type of player. The fit is not workong, hence the regression in play. That is on the coach.
How much is Will paying you? Just kidding brother!
Mason is > Levis
The end. Iām a Steeler fan and Iāve watched every second of Masonās career in Pittsburgh and no one was treated worse than his 6 years of torture there. In 2023 after not one but TWO first round draft choices (Trubisky & Pickett) couldnāt even get consistent first downs in a Steeler offense which already got a coordinator fired, Rudolph comes in and wins all three games and scored over 30 points twice which hadnāt been done in over 2 years there. He also had the most TD passes over 60 yards for the year even though he played in only 3 games. Callahan sucks too, Iām not convinced by this video that he isnāt the problem. By the way you have one win so far in Tennessee and who QBād that game? Hmmmm Ok The Titans are no where near the Bills level, they would have lost Sunday if Joe Montana in his prime was trying to run the Titans offense under Callahan
I know youāll disagree but this is still a coaching issue to me. Two different quarterbacks now and one is a 7 year vet and neither is capable of throwing with any anticipation at all? Both instantly check down over pushing the ball down the field when the chance arrives? Both struggling with the same issues? Thatās coaching pretty cut and dry. I mean not letting Ridley get set and operational issues and flags is coaching.
Just screams to me the coach whose passing game foundation is efficiency and spent all summer saying we will take what the defense gives us has hammered home this theology so hard that these dudes donāt want to be inefficient so they arenāt throwing with anticipation in fear of incompletion and turnovers and they donāt want to risk pushing the ball so they are taking their check down. That topped with bad pass blocking snd you have this.
Both QBs just look unprepared in multiple facets and Iām not going to be convinced Cam Ward is going to walk in here and look better.
The good side is I think itās easily fixable and not like Callahan just canāt scheme or call plays. He had to be better with the Qb coaching and getting them to throw with anticipation and not be afraid of turnovers and forget about efficiency.
yes seems that processing time was slow in most of these plays. will game slow down a bit more now that he has the rust knocked off given his first live action? or do think it will be more of the same this week?
wow, right tackle on that one play just pushed so quickly back to the qb. they need to double against edge rusher on that side every time.
Hey man just curious if you can let the play run in full or can you not let full plays run for legal issues? It would be alot better if you could show the full play before and after you do your explanation and break down. For instance discussing Rudolphās foot work on a paused screen shot doesnāt really help. We hear what you see it would be cool to see it in live action and not just screen shots and what is essentially GIF format
If everyone does the stupid ass plays itās not going Levis. Itās happened across the league all year these qbs have lost their minds
Our QB's are actually brain dead
I've said this before the Titans currently don't have their long-term QB on the roster.
Heās never been the answer anywhere.
Good job as always Tyler. Mason is NOT the savior, just another backup. Fans need to start using their brains and not their hearts all the time.
Not ācombat bootsā š„¾ š
Crazy Rudolph babies didn't want to listen. We don't have a QB for Callahan's system. Draft Sanders. He fits perfect.
Iām curious what goes on in these QB meetings.
Hey man nice video. Appreciate the effort. During the broadcast they showed a replay and the announcers also noted it appears that Lloyd slides to the right simultaneously as snapping and hadn't fully let go when he was moving to the right during the exchange. Just a theory. Or he could have just fumbled it
My goodness š¤¦šæāāļø u sound like me watching this film š the lack of anticipation on throws is maddening to watch id pull my hair out but im already bald lol
