  1. If the Mets have future championship plans, we need to get rid of wasted baggage like McNeil. We have Acuna who imho is going to be a superstar. If Pete wants to remain a Met he will accept any offer. If he wants to be a greedy bastard he will accept the highest one. Losing a .240 strike out/double play hitter with a clutch factor of 3 will not hurt the Mets chances as long as we replace him with Soto.

  2. If we keep one of the pitchers I’ll take Manaea, though he may be in line for an injury due to the amount of additional innings pitched this year vs last year.

I get that Pete is a home grown Met, but I feel that his better days are behind him. Yes he had a huge HR for us, but that moment has a shelf life. It shouldn’t be the reason to give him 5-7 more years that will see him at the age of 35-37. No thanks…we should hope for better going forward.

  3. Keep Winker, bring back Pete if his price is worth it if he wants too much let him walk. Bring back Manaea and Severino, let Maton and Ottavino, J,D, McNeill and Bader go

  4. McNeil does provide the flexibility but he's got no spot with Acuna and Mauricio. As much as i love him, i think he's getting traded. I read an article about McNeil traded for Montgomery from AZ

  5. Do not sign winker unless its low money, We need a everyday DH a real bat no more of this Lefty righty 2 players mess, We need more offense in this lineup we need a everyday 2nd baseman if not Acuna for full year then get someone, sign pete and sign soto

  6. I would trade Starling Marte and keep Jeff Mcneil. I would also try to be the highest bidder for Pete Alonso, I think he is due for a bounce back year. Other than that, I agree with the picks on the video. I think I would resign Severino over Manaea. Severino is younger and would probably cost less.

  7. hi Wardy glad I found you…mets pitching should put a clause in their contract on walks…..too many, defense has cost them too….on the brighter side would never give a contract over 3 years for a 30 or 32 year old, too many stars at 25, keep mcneil, what is wrong or right with winker, glad he is a Met, dont let senga pitch till he is ready, would give alonso 3 years with bonus incentives, let him earn the Big bucks, keep Peterson , keep iglesias, manaea if possible, lose quintano, ditch severino too many hamburgers, relievers are something else, maybe another starter, Great Team thank you Wardy!!

  8. JD was a great baseball player is it good for us to first half he needs to retire and become a coach DJ Stuart needs to be off this roster altogether not even on the 40-man roster

  9. Judging by Stearns' conference, they want to keep Pete and he wants to stay. They have a ceiling and he has a floor. They'll meet in the middle. Someone else might overbid. At that point it will become a question of money or legacy. No reason to disrespect either party if it comes to the worst, but I think he stays. He means too much to the franchise and the franchise means too much to him. Especially with records to be broken and a world series run likely to come to fruition [something we can't say for the Cubs or Mariners].

  10. Bye, bye, Adam Ottovino, Severino (he will have a bad year – not reliable, Moton, BADER, Marte and Alonso (if he doesn't sign team friendly contract).. Trade Jeff McNeil and Diaz… Keep Manaea @17.5m/1yr, Quintanna @ 14m/1yr, Winker @ 7m/2yrs, Inglesias @ 2m/1yr, Stanek @ 4m/1yr… Get Soto no matter what then Burnes and Scott to start with in free agency . -Please rebuild a competent bullpen that can close out games

  11. I want to say thank you for the video. I really appreciate it. I’m happy the Mets make it to the postseason, and I love your podcast, and you are very good.

  12. yes, The Mets had a great run this year but it doesn't hide the fact that there are glaring problems in the overall makeup of the team. These problems cannot be solved without action by upper management. Predictably, one of the big concerns will be the absence of consistent batts. Yes, The Mets success this season can be attributed with timely hitting and late inning comebacks but remember that this team struggled through stretches of quiet hitting throughout the year. Do Mets fans honestly believe that this team, who went as far as game 6 of the NLCS, could better that with the batts that they have? To get deeper next year obviously they're gunna need to get past The Dodgers. A Dodger team that outscored The Mets by how many runs, out hit them by how much? Now that I can look at it clearly, The Mets' success can be at least partially attributed by timing, a weakened NL East and a nasty if not tragic hurricane and storm season. My outlook for the next Mets season will almost be the same as it was going into this season. If The Mets' upper management don't get necessary scoring and consistent batts, dont be surprised if The Mets falter as The Braves comeback with more firepower. Don't be surprised if they don't make the playoffs, don't be surprised if they falter.

  13. If we cannot get Pete at a discount then I say thanks for the memories. I don’t want Severino or Quintana . I would go for Manea. I would try and sign the Brewers SS and move him to third and Vientos to first base to replace Pete.

  14. Alonso will be back after the post season he had. The only way he doesn't is if a desperate team, cubs offers him 10 years 300 million. I think he signs with Mets 7 years 207 million. If another team makes an outlandish offer the Mets may go 8 years 240

  15. our mets better reshape the starting rotation because i think we got lucky getting to a 6th game with the dodgers in the championship series for one thing. we have to get Burnes ok and prob 1 more nice starter as well and also change up the bull pen too. i think pete alonso will be gone and thats sad.

  16. JD can go….100% I say Keep Bader….hes the best defensive outfielder we had….up in the air about McNeil….Manea definitely needs to come back…. Keep Sevi as 5
