NBA Insider Shams Charania on the NBA’s investigation into the 76ers:
“The NBA has begun an investigation into the Philadelphia 76ers surrounding the player participation of All-NBA center Joel Embiid, league officials told ESPN. Embiid didn’t play in the preseason for what the team called left knee injury management, nor in Wednesday’s season-opening 124-109 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. He will miss two more games this week — Friday against the Toronto Raptors and Sunday against the Indiana Pacers. It’s typical for the NBA to review a team anytime a superstar player misses a nationally televised game, as per the player participation policy.”

  10. I don’t agree with Chase at all with this Embiid topic. You can’t prevent injuries. It’s either going to happen or not. Your best bet is to sit Joel for 82 games and then let him play if we make the playoffs. I don’t fault the league at all.

  12. It's the first game. No need to lean one way or the other just yet but c'mon people. We've seen the Embid 76ers for years now. Any team with Embid will never win because Embid will never play an entire season.

  17. Hell Chase, Didn't Brook Lopez get more free throws than Maxy? I was watching the game and thinking it was rigged against the 6ers. The Association has hated Philly since Iverson and especially since the Process.

  22. I think the problem is rooted in to many games. Not only with the Embiid situation, but for the whole league. But hey, more games, more air time, more tickets sold….More money.

  24. I’m born and raised in Camden but I live in Seattle where’s there is no NBA Team. I make the two hour drive down to Portland every year since 2010 and Embiid has never played. I pay good money for tickets, fuel, hotel for the night game and the time off from work because most of the time the game is in the middle of the week. And before you say I can watch it from home unfortunately the Portland market only play their home games on a channel that you can only find in Oregon for some bs reason. These players are soft and the fact that I pay $1500 every year to support my squad and not see our biggest stars play is bullshit. 👎

This team just coddles this asshole and gives him preferential treament over his team mates. He let his team down last night, and doesn't even give a shit. Wilt would be steaming about how Embiid takes off whenever he wants and doesn't give two shits about his team mates. What a selfish asshole. FCK Joel Embiid and the whole org. This is a ridiculous joke. I hope the NBA crushes the 76ers. I was a 76er fan all my life. Not so much right now- I HATE this org and I hate Embiid.

  26. If Embiid is healthy he should play. People pay good money to see Embiid play. If the sixers get in the playoffs Embiid going get trippled teamed and smaked around anyways. He needs to shaq up.
