Fresh off their 2004 NBA Championship, the Detroit Pistons kicked off the 2004-05 season with a preseason jaunt through Grand Rapids, Michigan (at Van Andel Arena) and Little Rock, Arkansas (at Simmons Arena, formerly Alltel Arena).

-Antonio McDyess’ tip dunk was strikingly similar to his last preseason tip dunk, one that resulted in a broken kneecap as a member of the New York Knicks (seen here: https://youtu.be/BC1oYX8yt0Y?t=8).
-The Pistons’ trek up to Grand Rapids for a preseason exhibition at Van Andel Arena used to be a yearly affair but that custom ended at some point in the 2010s.
