Pretty good overview of the first part of the offseason guys but I think you heavily overlooked one thing. The Free Agent Market for Bats is incredibly thin whereas the SP FA Market is flush as all hell. Here are some of the names who will be FA’s:
Burnes
Snell
Kikuchi
Wacha (he Declines, they place QO, he signs 3/63 somewhere else is how I see it going)
Fried
Eovaldi
Flaherty
Martinez
Montgomery (I think he accepts his 25 mil PO and then Ari cuts him since no one will trade for him because the Owner publicly stated he didn’t want him back tanking anybleftover value he might have had)
Verlander
Pivetta
Manaea
Bieber
Scherzer
Lorenzen
Boyd (who was very successful after he got to Cleveland)
Severino
Montas
Turnbull
Buehler
That’s 20 intriguing names not including the trade market. I don’t think it’s all that out of left field that the Royals could let Wacha go, Trade Brady Singer for an OF (maybe Nootbar like Chris said?), AND sign Buehler and Montgomery to 1 year prove it deals. Kaufman is a BIG park and the Royals have just come off a Playoff run. I imagine people would feel much less worried if the Rotation Options were Ragans, Lugo, Bubic, Buehler, Montgomery, Marsh, Wright, and Noah Cameron. Plus even with a trade for an OF I’d really like for the Royals to at least try for Tyler O’Neill…
Edit- I don’t know who else would bring it up but it has to be said I’d be all for bringing in Trevor Bauer btw. The man proved in court that he did no wrong and MLB has clearly used Collusion of some form to keep him out. That’s wrong and it needed to be said…
