  1. All the nfc west RBs are elite so hopefully this guy is the real deal. We have a bunch of divisional games coming up 2nd half of the season.

  2. Seeing Ernest come downhill and always changing his tempo on how he takes on a gap or a RB reminds me of Bobby Wagner

And it’s fitting because Bobby mentored Ernest

  3. Great video! Do you have any additional specific thoughts on how his skillset directly compares to what we had in Baker. Its interesting because they to me don't seem that different caliber wise. The pacing the RB point was insightful. But I didn't think Baker was a bad player but played badly for some reason. I guess I am confused on what the Titans see to think Baker would fit with them better/instead of Jones but they run the same defense. Wouldn't they want to keep Jones if he's the perfect fit for both defenses?

  4. Got that leader mentality. Remember what all the guys this last offseason were saying about the effort Spoon puts into his tackles and reads? Looks like we may have another at MLB in Seattle. Great addition, as always thank you for a great study all22!

  5. So excited about this! Listening to him speak, he’s so young but already a leader. Learned a ton from Bobby last year, and so dang smart and athletic. Can’t wait to see him in action with the Hawks!

  6. love this move! his knowledge and judgement of where he needs to be is barnone from our trade counterpart. plus he"s stronger, has a better football IQ, gets off blocks, patient, instinctive, longer arms, and they both work! unlike our old linebacker. he was basicly a one handed gimp! always getting lost in the mix and always missing tackles or getting manhandled! resign this dude long term please!

  7. I was initially pretty reserved on him after the initial trade news, but then I watched some tape and I’m extremely excited! I LOVE that you mentioned how nobody can seem to get him square on the second level blocks since that’s what initially stood out to me. He’s so shifty for an ILB where he gives just a little wiggle right before contact or positions himself so that he has room to move while still tracking the RB.

Been loving the videos, keep em coming!!

  8. 24 about the age you would draft him. A ILB with his skill set for a 4th rounder could end of a steal. Baker struggled to get off blocks and would overreact and give up huge cut back lanes. This guy seems to be a more natural ILB. He just knows. Where Baker at times guessed. It could turn out wrong. But the film doesn't lie. You don't get lucky and get 145 tackles. You are around the ball. Seattle should put Knight in at the weak. You now have two guys that seem to always find the ball. Something the other two ILB don't or didn't do.

  9. With Harris actually setting the edge and Jones. The run defense might actually slow someone down now. Because if you think Seattle is going anywhere giving up and easy 150+ a game on the ground you are insane. If a team gets 150 of 40 carries great. You gave up less than 4 yards a pop you did your job. Volume got you, not bad defense. But giving it up on 30 carries you can't win.

  10. Got a self-described dawg, who soaked up knowledge from Bobby Wagner. He's a great fit in MM's system. That patience and ability to read correctly is key. Baker and Dodson were taking bad routes to the ball and often avoiding traffic, hence giving up big lanes.
