  1. I don’t know why we’re shocked this is essentially the same team as last year, we will finish among the worst in the league probably around 10th, also I wish dach played more like Byfield with his body dach just seems to soft( though it is the beginning of the season I’ll give him time)

  2. This was just a sad game. It's like we have new no progress on the rebuild. Those goals we let in were so weak. I am questioning montemveault as number 1 again. We lack physical play. We seen to get sloppy. It's hard to watch. I thought we would be better

  3. Look at Lane's total minutes. And he's not a stay at home D either lol. I understand we lost Mike but damn you guys, it's too much, especially coming from the NCAA. Even with sheltered minutes his first time playing 82 games was going to be very difficult in the second half because of fatigue etc.
But he played 30+ MINUTES last night!
Savard doesn't look like himself, and if we lose Mike for a while, we need to pick a guy from Laval.
Who's playing the best there btw?

Thanks for the vid Drew 😀

  4. People really have to calm down its 5 games we are in a same boat as detroit and ottawa ……. i would understand this rate of panic after 15 games same outrage like in preseason with the PP . I am not saying dont criticise but cmon man …..

  5. Lane plays like our captain should play .suzuki rarely leads by example . This team feels no pressure !!!! It shows by the lack of effort they’re shown last year and this one . We need a true leader .obviously they don’t fear Marty ! Too much love for him by the guys .

  6. MSL is a great mentor but a horrible defensive coach. They need someone with proper NHL experience behind the bench. Habs are unfortunately doomed this season and it's starting to show.

  7. People need to calm down. They were never going to be in the mix. Look at their roster. Look at their defence. Like be realistic.

  8. Sometimes I don’t think people even watch the games. The Dach pass was behind Newhook. Every golden opportunity came off lucky bounces. They play with no energy. Can’t make any clean passes. They have been bad all year and it’s going to continue.

  9. We have 3 rookies and 5 players on expiring contracts who have been largely ineffective putting 13.862 million back into the team's coffers. If you want to change a team, you have to bring in better players, 2 – 3 solid NHL guys to steer the team along with Demidov etc along. We don't have 1 player who's been here 5 years, let alone a line with significant time together, so take a deep breath, give it at least 2 – 3 years more, Montreal has NEVER done this kind of rebuild, fans don't get the process & how long it takes, but time takes time. Thx Drew

  10. Morning Drew…..I agree with you…goal scoring is a problem and the PP still hasn’t been fixed. This tells me something….we need another PP coach who has a proven resume regarding the PP to come in and show us how to do it. Clearly, MSL is not getting it done or whoever has been the Special Teams coach.

If Struble replaces MM, I won’t shed a tear. But I also believe Mailloux teamed with Jackeye would be good for AX because he needs a partner he is comfortable playing with. Mailloux and Jackeye were an awesome pairing in Laval last year. Let them do it here. And I do think Barron needs to play on the top line, not on the 4th line with Jackeye.

As for forwards scoring goals….I’m not panicking yet. Dach should get his legs back and start scoring goals….I think both Gally and Anderson can do well enough so let them be…..I am really hoping either Heineman or Kapanen or both can be consistent scorers this year. Here’s hoping. Newhook seems to have his chances but much like Anderson, doesn’t seem to score as much as we would like. I hope that changes too.

It’s only been 5 games…..plenty of other teams are 2-3 or worse, so no need to panic….yet. Let’s revisit this topic after 20 games.

  11. Hughes needs to find and build more depth. Coach needs to step up AND shake it up. Captain needs to build urgency/energy into this team. Newhook and Armia drop down to third or fourth line and Dach should get a go with Heineman and/or Kapanen; maybe give him Slaf and put Heineman on with Suzuki and Caufield. Struble in, Mailloux in and I guess sit Arber for a game, although I feel like Savard might benefit from a game off instead and pair Arber with Logan or Jayden… Cannot believe the coach had this relative break in the schedule and made literally no changes to his lineup after the last loss…

  12. We have the exact same team as last year, not sure why everyone was expecting different results. Even when we play wonderboy 31 minutes he’s not enough to change the team.

  13. Matheson needs to maximum do 20 minutes a night. We overplay him.
6 low producer forwards.. You only have to block/tire suzuki's line to win.
The 3 remaining "good" forwards are intermingled with the other 6..

  14. These last two games we needed to win and should’ve, those teams aren’t even close to being as good as they were even two years ago. They needed to bare down and get things done.

    Caulfield Suzuki Slaf
    Newhook Dach Heinamen
    Anderson Evans Gally
    Pezzetta Davorak Armia/Kapenan
    If Matheson hurt
    Guhle Barron
    Savard Hutson
    Struble Xhekaj
    If not
    Matheson Barron
    Guhle Hutson
    Savard Struble
Love WIFI, but he needs to relax and play his game not run around and now he’s sitting in his heals. He needs to find the fine line for him.

  15. This team has a lot of talented offensive players however what I am seeing is the inexperience, the inconsistencies because of it and that this team is obviously still trying to develop rather than be ready to compete. IMHO. this team has strong difficulties playing teams that play a well structured game and I question MSL's line combos. As much as MSL should be given credit for whatever successes this team accomplishes, he should also be put on the hot seat when things are not going so well. My main contentions with this team is their lack of speed and smooth breakouts out of their zone, a need for way more movement and unpredictable play on what is suppose to be a better PP with MSL, and Suzuki-Caufield (main core players) not pushing and dictating play as a 1st line, rather than having inconsistent games. I'm not too worried with Slaf as I see the effort but probably trying to do too much…Dach obviously showing he lost all of last season and MSL trying to get him the ice time and reps to get his hockey game back, and as much as I understand why Savard is paired w/Hutson…Savard needs to go and Hutson needs to be paired (eventually with Reinbacher) with a more mobile Right Dman. All the questioning goes away with a solid win in the next game LOL but what is concerning is this team cannot afford an inconsistent start if they wish to compete for a playoff spot so fans should be prepared.

  16. They can;t be in the mix with a bunch of plugs, the team has no talent. they were bottom 5 last year, and only added hutson. If you play more than one of anderson, dvorak, armia, evans, pezz and im sure im missing a few you are going nowhere.

  17. This team has tons of skill. I’ve been a Canadiens fan for sixty years and played for fifty. This team needs a coach! No dogging Martin St.Louis but he’s not the guy for this team sorry. The guys don’t respect him as a coach taking there time getting of the ice, the faces they make when he’s talking to them. Theses kids know this shit that he’s never coached before at any level and he doesn’t have there ear. My opinion and trust me it’s right , just ask me lol. But all seriousness get a new coach. Barry Trotz right now would get this team into a playoff spot this year. Just remember where you heard this first. GIDDY UP

  18. they got 1-3-1 anaconda dont want none cokeholded by the Kings last night and the coaching wasn't able to make the adjustments needed… plus they are getting outworked by other teams more often than not this season so far. Lets beat those greasy cheese-ball eating Islanders tomorrow!!

  19. Absolutely no way Habs finish Bottom 3. I doubt they will finish bottom 5. First of all Patrik Laine will be back. Secondly they are 2nd youngest team in the league with several new players so it tales time for them to adjust. They likely won't make the playoffs but they e
will improve and be better than you think. Only played 6 games…its a long season so chill.
