  1. the voice of the Cleveland Browns Jim will be for ever be remember as a great man and the voice of the Browns and his enthusiasm will be missed even here in the UK by this avid Browns fans RIP Jim

  2. I religiously watched his best of radio Brown replays on YouTube after every game. This video brings back the best memories of the last 5 years. Praying for him, his family and friends. A good person with a wonderful personality who brought a lot of joy for many.

  3. This is one of the most heartbreaking losses Cleveland has dealt with. Jimmy was a ray of sunshine through all the dark times this team has had for many years. You couldn’t wait to hear his postgame speeches because he always had a smile on his face and he was so passionate about the Browns. He truly deserved better than what he got. He will be sorely missed.

    RIP Jimmy ❤

  4. Thank you Jimmy D! I appreciate him even more watching him carry Doug Deiken. What a grumpy old curmudgeon. Not one ounce of the joy and excitement compared to that of JD. Not once does he even look over at Jimmy, & when he does wake up & comment it’s boring, short and obvious! I loved #73 as a tackle when he played but after Nev Chandler passed away he was an indifferent, disinterested lump. Thank goodness we got Andrew and Nathan to call the games. Nathan was brought to tears on a few of those “Fantastic Finishes”

  5. this is so sad. When I was in the military I’d call my parents house on my flip phone and my dad would put the home phone next to the radio and I’d listen to him call them games every Sunday when I was working. The 2007 season was magical because Jim, and he got me through some tough military posts! Thanks for the memories Jim!!!!!!!!! ❤

  6. Browns fans this are disgusting and it’s sad to see him go out with FANS who are so ungrateful and hateful…. That’s why their record is terrible…. Rip Jim u deserved a year of happiness not miserable fans crying and complaining…

  7. Thank you so much for being the voice of the Browns each Sunday for the last twenty-five years. You will be missed, and my sincerest condolences to your family.

  8. Man, this sucks. Just cried with my brother next to me thinking about all of our memories with Jimmy. 36 years old and this one really, really hurt. Matching TV broadcast on mute to match up Jimmy's voice held us through the 2000's. He brought me into LeBrons world when I graduated high school, and I will never forget his voice with the Indians. Thanks Jimmy, you made all of our lives a little better with you in our lives. Browns games will never be the same.

  9. Me and my family would mute the mainstream commentating on the tv and tune into the radio, and put it below the tv, just to have Jim Donovan commentating when watching. It made the game that much more exciting as a browns fan.

  10. Easily one of the best commentators of all time. His energy that he brought to Cleveland, even in our worst years… unbelievable. A shame we couldn’t win the Super Bowl before he passed. I only ask for one more win this year, either against the Ravens or the Steelers. Go Browns, and fly high, Jim.
