  1. You like to sneak up on us dont you? LOL! I just checked in and saw your post. I cant believe any of the rumors right now. They usually dont wind up happening. We're still in World Series mode. I doubt anything happens until the winter meetings in December. As for what we need to focus on…A few more bats and a few more starters and relievers.

  2. You know Sterns is going to make moves. After the conference he made a post to met fans on youtube giving his love and thanking us for sticking with our ballclub, the countdown is starting until pitchers and catchers but I will be working on us being more competitive. Nothng cannot be predertermined but he is concerned that we aer down and upset and will do all he can since the team has money this year.

  3. I dont want McNeil or Pete, but they need to replace those 2 with equivalents or better. As for starters, the top 3 seem to walk too many. And always when they do they always give up a bomb right after. Manaeh as a #3 OK. It just didnt feel like Quintana or Severino pitched to their stats. I agree with you on Ottavino, and the rest of their bullpen wasnt much better. We need someone hard as concrete like DeGrom was, but there arent many of them out there. There is definitely room for improvement.

  4. So refreshing that you are very candid about Alonso. You openly talk about Alonso on the backend of his career, you talk about a lot of his stats moving in the wrong direction for a few years in a row, and you talk about his “value.” Thats the key man. Alonso’s value is not anywhere near as high as what the understated fan thinks it is. Signing Alonso should NOT be a priority. Spending money wisely on the guys that will best impact the Mets positively should be the priority. Alonso should really be a Plan B if Soto can’t be signed and if there aren’t any other moves they can make.

  5. U never give up a feared and respected hitter. They are more intimidating with him in the line up..i would give him 6 years 27 million a year.could share with vientos 1st base and dh.The last couple as a dh.

  6. The baseball offseason is upon us as quickly as a walk-off grand slam in the World Series. It sneaks up on you when you least expect it and…BOOM, GAME OVER! Ask Aaron Boone. Regardless of the disappointment that resulted in our loss to our ancestral first cousins in Hollywood, some still love O'Malley and Stoneham for their contribution to baseball history in New York. Robert Moses gets a lot of undo criticism for the exodus of the Dodgers and Giants but in hindsight, Moses, George McLaughlin, Hulan Hack, and our old friend, M. Donald Grant tried valiantly to keep the Bums and the Gothams in New York; the dramatic Dodger victory last night is bittersweet for self-proclaimed New York baseball historians who still resent the aforementioned individuals. Dealing with our current ballclub and the franchise that ended New York's craving for National League baseball, our Metropolitans of New York, the club that gladly took the land in Flushing Meadow and created an ancestral home for us, we see an off-season of unparalleled opportunity. The money removed from the tax threshold creates a variety of opportunities and may see a club that made it to the NLCS in a complete rebuild. A roster reconstructed within the vision of David Stearns whose preference for a strong bullpen, speed, and defense supersedes slugging and a deep starting rotation. Stearns understands that the modern game that emphasizes short stints by starting pitchers, a deep bullpen, and the reimplementation of speed due to recent rule adjustments is paramount to sustained success. I think due to these adjustments, Alonso and McNeil will be gone. Juan Soto and Roki Sasaki will obviously be the primary targets in free agency. A player like Yoan Moncada could fill 3rd base when Alonso walks to Wrigley, Fenway, or The Bay shifting Vientos across the diamond to first This brings up an interesting development concerning the pending fire sale on Chicago's Southside. Perhaps Stearns and Cohen pillage the Nashville/Salt Lake City White Sox for some of their undervalued and expensive talent. For a terrible ballclub, the current Chicago White Sox do have some talent. Could a guy like Cody Bellinger opt out and depart the North Side for Flushing Meadow? I believe a DH, such as Marcell Ozuna's bat is available this holiday season. We can also fill many holes with some of the youth in the system acquired for Verlander and Scherzer. The possibilities are endless and newsworthy considering the pigskin season is all but over in New York before Thanksgiving, just get guys like us to pitchers and catchers, that means you Rangers and Knicks.
