ABOUT THE HOSTS
Terry Foster
Terry Foster is a celebrated figure in Michigan sports broadcasting and journalism. A former president of the Detroit Sports Media Association (2022-2023), Foster has built an impressive career through his passion for storytelling and sports.

Born and raised in Detroit, Foster graduated from Detroit Cass Technical High School before earning his degree from Central Michigan University. He launched his journalism career at the Grand Rapids Press and gained widespread recognition through his work at the Detroit Free Press and The Detroit News. His roles included covering the Detroit Pistons, the NBA, and serving as a columnist.

Foster’s distinguished career has seen him cover some of the biggest events in sports, including Super Bowls, World Series, NBA championships and Olympics. In addition to his professional achievements, he gives back to the community by mentoring students through the Detroit Police Athletic League, focusing on podcasting, radio, and sports journalism.

A familiar voice on Detroit radio, Foster hosted sports talk shows on WDFN-AM 1130 from 1996 to 2002 and he co-hosted the immensely popular “Valenti and Foster Show” WXYT-1270 AM and 97.1 FM The Ticket from 2003 to 2017.

In addition to his broadcasting career, Foster is an accomplished author, having penned 100 Things Tiger Fans Should Know and Do Before They Die and co-authored The Great Detroit Sports Debate with fellow Detroit sports writer Drew Sharp.

Matt Broder
Matt Broder is an emerging sports media personality in Detroit, bringing a unique perspective to his analysis as both a Detroit native and former professional athlete. A standout pitcher at Cranbrook High School, Broder was named Michigan High School Athlete of the Year following his senior season. His talent on the mound led him to the University of Michigan, where he excelled as a left-handed pitcher before continuing his baseball career professionally in Germany.

During his time at Michigan, Broder took on a leadership role as the University’s Student-Athlete Representative to the Big Ten Conference. In this position, he was instrumental in fostering dialogue around key issues, including college athletes earning compensation, which helped pave the way for the NCAA’s decision to allow student-athletes to benefit from their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

Since joining Woodward Sports Network in 2022, Broder has served as a Beat Writer and Reporter, covering both the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tigers.

  1. Brad Holmes is outstanding in the draft — that's why you need to think long & hard about giving up too much draft capital for an edge rusher. In Holmes we trust, GO LIONS!!!
