Recent Sharp Play by Sabres Building Hope in an End to Playoff Drought

The Sabres had a good season in 2022-23 where they barely missed the playoffs. After a fall back last season, this year is showing signs they may be good once again. Can they be playoff level good for a full 82 game schedule?

  1. Buffalo is absolutely a bubble playoff team if they stay healthy and don’t dig themselves back into the hole they dig themselves out of.

Making it deep isn’t in the cards barring them catching fire at the right time, but I could feasibly see them as a WC team in the east.

  2. Interesting that you are talking down Buffalo's chances of beating Florida, a team they beat a couple of weeks ago. I dismiss theit 1st two losses in Prague as they did not face a NHL level roster until their opening game. The pre season schedule they were given was not condusive to being ready for those games. The problem Buffalo have had over recent seasons is a good October followed by a terrible November. I think this team will grow and be around the playoff line the whole season.

  3. I can understand the skepticism against Florida cause they dominated them without Tkachuk and Barkov, can they repeat that? We will see. Rangers looking shaky right now so it can be had if that continues, hopefully Buffalo can keep Isles from playing their boring brand of hockey by gettingnup ealry and forcing them to play outisde of their system. Im hoping Buffalo fan get points in wvery game on your board with a few being regulation wins against Division opponents. Go Sabres!

  4. Hey Shannon, is there any validity to the rumors that Lou and Patrick Roy had a big verbal argument about the isles roster?

As an islanders fan I’m really scared that Roy is gonna jump ship and ownership is gonna stay with Lou who’s driving this team into the ground

  5. As a MN fan who adopted the Sabres when Dallas stole my original team I'm really hoping to see some excellent playoff hockey from both teams in the near future. I'd really like to see at least one of them win a cup before I bite it, preferably both.

  6. Most teams in the Atlantic are struggling atm and i really hope one of the rebuilding teams takes over in the top 3.
i'm sick and tired of having Boston, Toronto and one of the floridian teams up there !
if Buffalo are the chosen ones, good for them!

  7. This schedule is pathetic. Heat em up…cool em down! They should ride UPL IMHO. Sabres still the youngest team in the NHL. (Feels like I have been saying that for years now). Last season they played well against top tier teams and played down to lower teams. Maybe it's a maturity issues. Time will tell, but this playoff draught has been just awful! Cautiously optimistic.

  8. As a sens fan, if there’s a team I want to get in it’s the sabres. Feel like we’ve been on a similar path although you guys have definitely suffered more. Would love to see both teams in the playoffs ❤
