  1. I wonder how this being only Russell Wilson's 2nd start affects the Steelers' psyche.

I've heard the talk that the locker room likes Fields as a person, but if they believe Wilson gives them a chance to truly contend, maybe they're eager to build his momentum, and they play with enthusiasm to go into the bye 6-2 with an encouraging performance.

Humans have a tendency to overrate / stick with first impressions… Wilson started slowly last week, but they ended up scoring 37 points against that disrupted Jets team. He put up a lot of contested catch balls, but I think that can work for them. I was encouraged by the system fit.

I think Wilson's at his best in a team with a running identity who ask him to throw deep balls off of that. He looks comfortable game managing a defensive team with a modest number of throws, not dinking & dunking over the middle.

Odds-wise, I like the fact Wilson has been talked down in the media, both in last week's performance and in recent years. I think he'll go in confident. I think the team should be bouyant, yet they've still not received hype.

I feel the dynamic works against a let-down.

  2. Merrill is the best handicapper Iโ€™ve encountered. F the haters, Steve. We appreciate you. Really gonna be tough for me to back the giants here, which you acknowledge. Thinking of teasing to double digit points and making the under closer to 43

  3. Iโ€™m a giants fan and I gotta tell you Iโ€™m never confident watching my team play.

With that said this week however is different.

The Steelers are coming off a win that is having them feel really confident. I dare say this is going to be their downfall.

The Steelers are going to get caught sleeping here not because they under estimate the giants but because they will over estimate their abilities here.

Giants suck on prime time but do better on the road. Their backs are against the walls and this feels like a do or die game for some peoples jobs.

Giants will win this game. It will be close I donโ€™t see giants winning by a touchdown but a field goal

  4. Steve, Iโ€™ve successfully adhered to many of ur free picks (&knot to mention my subscription). Took a yr of (paralysis by analysis) to decide that your the pro I understand & should . cheap shots fr cheap seats mean less & less

  5. No matter what you say Steve fade the public donโ€™t matter the books make where itโ€™s pretty even and gets play on both sides. You know that but you like to live in denial. Itโ€™s based on luck 99.9 percent of the time. Nobody can handicap injuries and nobody can handicap pick 6s either. So instead of saying all that riff raff why donโ€™t you just say I like this team because. Not talk all that none sense.

  6. Jones is 1-15 SU and 6-10 ATS in night games during his career. The steelers have won 21 straight mnf games. I get fading the public, but I wouldn't trust Jones to do it.
