  1. JT Miller wants Petterson to play at his highest level for the team. That's my perception. If those top 2 lines are rolling and the bottom 6 look good , i think this team is a cup contender.

  3. Canucks “family feud” is already coined bud. The story is they’re competitive and still teammates. Good for the team didn’t hear Hughes complain

There's only one thing Petterson needs to do, now that he is one of the Top 10 highest paid players in the NHL along with McDavid, Matthews, Dreisatl, Ovechkin, Nylander and the others — prove he is worth it! Enough with all the talk, enough with all the excuses, enough wishful thinking, enough PR from the Canucks, enough with the noise from the media and the fans —- just step up to the plate and show the world you are as good as you are getting paid to be. The way to do that is to start consistently scoring goals and making assists and putting up stats on the same level as JT Miller and Quinn Hughes. When Petterson starts doing that, he'll get nothing but positive support from the teams and the fans. But if he doesn't, it's going to be a very unhappy season for Elias Petterson.

I've been watching the Canucks since WHL days and when they joined the NHL in expansion days — and in my humble opinion, Elias Petterson is the most over-rated player I've ever seen in terms of the money they are paying him now. He's a great player, but he is not on the same level as the McDavids and the Matthews and the other top franchise superstars. It was a mistake to give him all that money and put all that pressure on him, because I don't believe he can deliver on all the wishful thinking. If he does explode into the superstar some people think he can be, nobody will be happier than me. But I just don't see it happening.

  9. If Pettersson does whimper away wanting a trade than it just proves he is too soft and better to unload him now. If it motivates him to earn his money even better. Both good possibilities.
