Toronto Raptors Weekend Recap | Rookies impress, Gradey Dick’s offensive leap & the new Ochai Agbaji

The Toronto Raptors split a pair of weekend games against the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves, and there were a whole lot of positive things to take away about the team’s crew of rookies, Gradey Dick, Ochai Agbaji and more. In Episode 1735, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors in 7, Sportsnet) to talk about their biggest takeaways from the Raptors’ two weekend games, and run through the things they liked, the things they didn’t like, and the things that have them intrigued from the first weekend of the season. Off the top, Sean and Vivek chat about the performances of the team’s rookies, especially in the win over the Sixers, and why Jamal Shead, Jonathan Mogbo and Jamison Battle are already making the 2024 Raptors rookie class look like a banger, and that’s without seeing Ja’Kobe Walter yet, and with Ulrich Chomche still very much in the learning phase. Next, they talk about Gradey Dick flashing an expanded offensive package, and the stark increase in his above-the-break shooting volume and efficiency. Lastly, Sean and Vivek dig into The Good (New Ochai Agbaji), The Bad (turnover trouble, Jakob Poeltl’s start) and The Hmmmm (Jamison Battle, what the rotation will look like once the team starts to get healthy) to wrap up the show.

  1. If Jakob Poeltl was a black guy he would be asked to leave the NBA and go play in the Philippines 🇵🇭 I don’t understand why nobody criticizes this man who is in the NBA for now 9 seasons
