  14. The job this scouting staff did for this last draft pretty much has saved the 49ers season.

    Puni, Green, Guerendo, Mustapha, Pearsall, Cowing, and Bethune have all helped and contributed this year when their number has been called.

    Puni has been a top 15 guard in the league thus far, and the young man has helped fill a void on the OL solidifying the RG spot.

    Green, Mustapha, and Pearsall all look like they should've been picked among the first 40 or so selections in the draft as well, and that's not even including UDFA gem Evan Anderson who has come in, grinded, and he's helped the interior of the DL. Anderson has gotten some stuffs, and he's the exact type of DT the 49ers have needed. It's crazy they've been stopping the run as well as they have, and that's after losing Hargrave, YGM, Kalia, and even Givens lately. Anderson and Sam O have been tremendous.

  15. 49ers don't need to add a WR unless they add a burner that can take the top off. J.Hyatt from the Giants could be an extremely sneaky, great move. He'd be the exact compliment and deep threat the 49ers need, but I'm not entirely sure Kyle would have the confidence to play him until JH had an offseason to learn the playbook and learn his blocking assignments.

    Otherwise, honestly, I think they'd be better off looking at upgrading the Tight End position and depth.

    Safety depth is also a concern, and the 49ers are one injury away from potentially having to start Mahoney or Amos…Let that sink in for a moment. They could potentially move Green to safety, but I don't think they really want to mess with him when he's just showing some excellent signs getting comfortable at CB.

    Other than that, they could use a solid veteran DT that stops the run, can push the pocket, willingly takes up double teams, and will take up some snaps helping keep guys fresh.
