What Cincinnati Bengals SHOULD DO at Trade Deadline

Should the Cincinnati Bengals make a move ahead of the trade deadline? James Rapien explains why they should be aggressive and add to their roster, despite their 3-5 start. Yes, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase are BIG reasons why!!

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, November 5! Recent trades involving Josh Uche and Diontae Johnson are EXACTLY why the Bengals should make a move

  1. I don’t care if they buy or sell, I just want to see something this year. As a bengals fan, I completely prepare for us to do nothing, but we can at least hope.

  2. Fully agree with the idea that if they trade for someone and it doesn’t work out, at least there is effort being put forth there. Doing nothing at all would be the most frustrating thing, ESPECIALLY with how well Joe has been playing

  3. Zac already alluded to no trades in the works. I knew i smelled a rat when Tobin was talking about already looking forward to the next draft and actively scouting. While scouting is nearly constant and a good thing, it just became apparent that no changes were going to be made to this years roster.

  4. Hey James…it would be great to see our Bengals make moves to get bigger & beefer upfront on defense & add a touch run stuffing 'Mike Backer'. But, I'm not holding my breath…sorry.

  5. We won’t do anything. Duke Tobin is the issue. It’s not his style to make trades. He has become set in his ways and it has become cancerous. Chiefs Ravens and Bills and Lions all have made trades. They all despite having solid records and a solid team. Are looking to get better.
We say it’s “not our style”. What that really means is. “I’m stubborn and don’t want to change. Even if that means I have a looser mentality”

  6. Since this is such a joke…our front office should offer Baltimore a 7th round pick in 2029 for derrick henry. If that's rejected toss in 7th in 2030 too try get Tj watt from pitt. If we made those trades probably be in hunt to win North this year. Our front office so asleep maybe their dreaming of these ideas?

  7. let's be honest………..making move(s) at/before the trade deadline could make the bengals play better but that isn't fully going to solve the real biggest issue! can the players be playing better? absolutely………..and that even includes joe burrow who has been playing better than arguably every quarterback in the NFL. however, the biggest problem with this team is the head coach, zac taylor. getting someone like diontae johnson isn't going to fully cover up the basic offensive scheme that the bengals be using. why else do you think the offense has had plenty of struggles whenever tee higgins misses games? it's NOT because burrow or chase has to rely on the health of higgins just so they can play great. it's the offensive scheme that has to rely on higgins, burrow AND chase to healthy all at the same time just so they can play well. the talent around the team the past few seasons (including this season) has been carrying the coaching and it hasn't worked this time. the bengals have mostly won games the past few seasons in spite of the coaching and coaching has been holding this back from what they can potentially be.🤷🏿‍♂

with that being said, the bengals season isn't over and part of that does have to do with the NFC looking better than the AFC this season. but they have LITTLE margin for error, if any.

  8. They should trade away T Higgins, but they won’t do that because we’re talking about the Bengals front office and organization. They need to fire Zac Shula as well!!!

  9. Tobin is horrible and locked in to that position until he dies an old age. Nothing will change until the team is sold. Seats will be filled while Burrow and Chase are here. Luck will have to be on our side

  10. Speaking of trades there is proof of alien life on other planets. Its these other national bloggers suggesting Tee could be traded to Pittsburgh or Baltimore. Theres more of a chance alien shows up at those writers front doors with keys brand new free Ferrari than Bengals making those goofball deals with division. How do these dudes get published??

  11. This team is going nowhere! I like your enthusiasm James, but let’s face it. The coaching staff is horrific. The organization will not trade. They don’t even talk about the season until the end of the season, which doesn’t make a lot of sense. But that’s how things have been running forever. They have missed on a lot of number one draft picks. Where is the kid from Clemson Myles! He is been a disappointment to say the least. You can see that Joe Burrow is disgusted. This coaching staff is holding this team back. They need a head coach! And Zac is not the answer. Why don’t they go after somebody that’s gonna be a great head coach and I’m not talking about Bill Belichick. He is finished, we talk about the office coordinator from Detroit Ben Johnson. He has resurrected Jared Gs career and the offense is absolutely spot on in Detroit. He would make a great coach for Joe Burrow and this team.

  12. The thing you forget it our defense sucks. You can have the best QB in the leuage and still not make the playoffs because you can’t stop the other team from putting points on the board. With this bad d we will never make the playoffs. Revamp for defense this off-season.
