Sid’s body language this season and lack of effort which only happened once for more than one game is back in 2016 when Mike Johnston was coaching and nothing worked. We see good flashes, good plays from lines 3 and 4.
Like you said, the team needs a hammer! It needs a new vision, a new way of doing things.
I don’t think Sullivan is a bad coach, but clearly the way he sees the game is obsolete. He didn’t adjust his schemes since 2018. Every teams know how to beat the Pens.
And obviously the lack of effort and reliability of Karlsson, Letang, Pettersson and even Sid 😔 is hurting them.
Twice the Penguins changed coach mid year, both times they won the Cup. Look at the Oilers or Canucks since Rick Tocchet came in, things drastically changed.
Dubas needs to go, then address what should’ve been addressed in the offseason, but instead has to be done during the season, leaves no room for mistakes. Need a defensive minded approach with the idea of being stingy, smart, maybe physical, creating opportunities that let the big names do what they do. I thought they were somewhat close last year, they had a potential to build off this year, but Dubas ‘s actions, or in this case inaction, made a huge mess. The fact Dubas would put a team in a position like this, a team where he is the GM, is a dealbreaker.

They look like a last place team right now. Once in a while they can have a solid game and score 5 but mostly just lose 80% of the time.
I bet we get some chants at the home game to “Fire Sully” or Dubas. I’d be pissed if I bought season tickets

heres the penguins biggest problem in 2 words. KYLE DUBAS. You can add 2 letters to his last name m before the b and s after the s.
The Penguins need to make trades for faster players and replace Mike Sullivan with another experienced coach like Gerard Gallant.
I wish Sully would be more open to Pre-emptively using a a basketball timeout… He doesnt have the pulse of thw team. Not just this season.

Don’t the players review video of games with coaches?! They MUST be aware of their poor play. Why aren’t they changing? They are professionals paid very well for their play. Aren’t they embarrassed to put out such a poor product? What can be done?

Their biggest problem is their forwards, specifically the top 6 don’t want to play defense. Crosby has made a lot of mistakes, evidenced by his abysmal – rating. And Malkin, despite all those points doesn’t give any effort on the d side. Fact is they stink. I knew t they were going to stink.

Geno is the whole team up front. The Pens have wasted Malkin's 14 points. 71 = playing offense good. Firing Sullivan would change everything around here. The Pens and hockey itself have a history of firing every coach. The Pens fired every coach up until Bylsma. Bylsma lasted a little. Now the Pens are LOSERS who think they are the Steelers playing football with the never changing the coach. FIRE SULLIVAN and end the long term relationship. Sullivan will immediately get a new job nullifying his contract. Oh wait Dubas doesn't know how to hire a new coach or even how to identify the problem. The problem is Mike Suckagain.

thank you for adding some HISTORY behind the psychology of Mike Sullivan … we all knew the psychology … star players – coach – blah blah blah … “who is he to tell these guys what to do ?” he’s not a bad coach – probz one of the better ones in the league – that’s why Dubas wants him . He ain’t stupid either . Karlz & Sid have to be going through SOMETHING to be THIS behind on EVERYTHING …. maybe EK65’s “Veteran Pass” on preseason was an actual injury … maybe Sid is low in SPIRIT … or maybe even battling a smallish thing even Tanger dealt with all last season … he’s literally top 5 best players of ALL TIME & in the top 10 current to this day . Hopefully he gets back to showing the team what they need to do to succeed just from his actions – like he has always done … any-who … LETS GO PENS (cant wait to see the FLOWER ceremonies later tonight ❤️)
