  1. The METS should see if Vlad Jr. Is a Viable Free-Agent Signing after the 2025 MLB Season. The METS would be burdening themselves with a Diminishing Player in Pete Alonso if they give Him a 4+ year contract.

  2. 48 year old lifelong Mets fan here, and I definitely don’t want to see Pete in another team’s jersey. Didn’t want to lose him before we made the playoffs either.

  3. Wrong again…Stearns and Cohen quietly are always measuring reward vs. risk scenarios in every decision that they arrive at. They certainly do not want the risk of signing a 1st baseman who turns 30 in December to a multi-year substantial contract pushing $200 million. They realize that Pete has yet to incur any substantial injuries, and as well they know the risk of that is greater in the ensuing years. They most likely will therefore be inclined to go with signing Christian Walker at a far lower price and shorter term. This is more so the case if they will be shelling out $630 million for Soto. So, wave bye bye to Pete… Hey…its a business! Drop the sentimental theory as what you decided Pete really wants… and there isn't any home team discount!

  4. Too many Mets are emotional of their "home grown" players. He's put up numbers however, at a cost. His liftime batting average with Mets is .270 in a good year. This means he strikeouts more than he hits or let alone home runs. He's disappeared in the regular season until the last few months duing the playoffs. If I'm Pete I take what the Mets give to allow for the organization to build around him and Lindor that may help his batting average as a Met. Met fans forget that Pete gambled his contract prior to the start of this year. Since then Lindor has become the MVP of the Mets not Pete.
