  1. It's better than running iso with 4 flat but i think the copy and paste actions are boring to see. I think the cure for all these copy cat stuff is for teams to run more off of misses and makes into 3s and layups so that more creative passers can show off. The NBA always has one guy dribble it up instead of trying to get outlet passes over the top like 33% of the time, especially when they have poor shooting lineups. Could you imagine if teams practiced full court pnr and hand offs off an over the top pass to the middle of half court and ran it to get 5 on 3 or 5 on 4 to shoot 3s with a man advantage to rebound. I think if you have a lineup with an athletic advantage, it could work

  2. Every team running the same offense is boring, no matter what shape it takes. It doesn't matter if it's difficult to execute, but when a single optimal strategy to win games has been discovered, that is a problem.
Hot take: The three point line needs to be changed, 25 feet and end at the sidelines with no corner three. It is a completely arbitrary reward system that was added as a gimmick when the NBA was struggling, basketball was not designed for it, and it has made 80% of the space of the halfcourt completely meaningless. It is limiting offensive creativity in the same way illegal defense rules were in the 90s. Every team is fast as hell, every team runs the same offense, every team shoots a ton of threes, and it's boring because basketball is currently like an engine running far faster than it was designed for.
To get ahead of some criticisms, no this isn't because of the Celtics, I've been saying this since 2018, 'records' wont be affected since basketball has only recently existed longer with the three pointer than without it. I fell out of love with basketball years ago and follow Coach Nick for nitty gritty analysis, but even then it all starts to blend together. Also carrying, the gather step is garbage, defensive fouls are out of control, etc.

  3. For me personally, I have a basic understanding of NBA offense, therefore I enjoy most of it, regardless of which team is on. Complaining that NBA teams don’t have a “personality” is ridiculous since they have different players, with different skill sets, and they run different plays to leverage them.

Let’s name a few teams that played completely different styles from last year. Celtics, Lakers, Pacers, Mavs Nuggets, Knicks, Kings, Wolves, Suns. If you watch ball you already know.

To me this is like saying all football teams are the same because they all just lineup at the line of scrimmage and throw and pass the ball…okay bro

  4. Nba is boring as f#@k now, teams run down the court and jack up 3s , it's hard to watch . The balance between offences and defence is to much in favour of offence

  5. My favorite player of all time is Earl Monroe. Which might give you an idea of my age and my taste in basketball. The NBA, today, has a better product than it ever has. It is a fine blend of individual play and team play. The only reason that some fans don't like this style of play is because they just don't understand the game. They want it dumbed down.
