Will Smith Breaks Out And Mackenzie Blackwood Shuts The Door In San Jose Sharks 3-2 Win
Will Smith shines as he scores his first two NHL goals, including the decisive game-winner, leading the San Jose Sharks to a thrilling 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. This episode explores the Sharks’ evolving ability to close out games, a significant improvement from last season. Mackenzie Blackwood’s stellar goaltending, with 29 saves on 31 shots, played a crucial role in securing the win, especially during a tense third period. However, the defensive pairing of Mario Ferraro and Jan Rutta faces challenges, prompting discussions on potential changes, such as pairing Ferraro with Timothy Liljegren. Meanwhile, the dynamic line of Eklund, Granlund, and Toffoli dominates the ice, driving the Sharks’ offensive momentum.
Tune in to hear expert analysis and insights on the Sharks’ strategies and player performances that are shaping their season.

Jake Wahlman is more fun to watch than Eric Karlsson.
Will Smith told Dan R BEFORE the game he was going to score tonight.
Blackwood shut down the Black Hawks in the 3rd period. Blackwood played well tonight.
I don't mean to brag, but the Sharks are undefeated when I'm in attendance this year. Also Smith is on pace for 164 goals in games I am at.
Will Smith will do a good job Scarlett Brittany Road after him and be good also he returns from his injury Hill bang the book hellbender I will see here an improvement with all of them confident in all of them in all of them where's Mike Greer
Smith's first NHL goal was better than Macklin's
The zetturland penalty at the very end was bull crap I think the refs tried to rig it
The thing that impressed me most about Will Smith's goals was that he drifted into open space and made himself available to receive a clean pass and take an uncontested shot.
It reminded me a bit of Jonathan Cheechoo's Rocket Richard-winning season, where he would go into what I called "stealth mode". Even though other teams watched hours of video on him, during that magical season he would still casually drift or push away from the opposing players in the slot, take the pass — usually from Jumbo Joe — and fire it home.
I know Smith is primarily known as a setup guy, but if he can continue to find open ice after the other teams study him, he could become a real problem to defend against: a sniper who can also get you to overcommit and then make a perfect pass for a shot or tip. It's going to be fun to watch as he learns to adapt his hockey sense to the NHL game!
