What’s going on with the Canadiens?
The Canadiens have four wins in 11 games and have losses where they’ve given up six, seven and eight goals. What is going on with Montreal? Is head coach Martin St. Louis getting enough out of the roster right now? TSN Hockey analyst Bruce Boudreau joins Domino’s That’s Hockey to give his thoughts.

Rookie gm hires rookie coaching staff who also has the youngest dcore in the league and ppl expect them to be a playoff team lol They have no 2nd line, no 3rd line, stuck with bad contracts and subpar goaltending. Heres to another top 5 draft pick !
This guy said a whole lotta nothing.
AHL goalies
As a Habs fan, the French media is what causes these unrealistic, bone head expectations. Montembault is not a Team Canada caliber goalie, Primeau is an AHL goalie. Dach is still largely unproven, and Suzuki is a very good 2C, or a decent 1C on a competitive team, which we aren’t. Caufield will not hit 50, he might hit 40 because he’s the only one who can put pucks in right now. Anderson, Gallagher, Armia, Dvorak are all dead in the water. The defense is way too young, and last but not least, I don’t think Marty is a good coach. He was fine for the first couple years for early development, but he’s not the coach that’s gonna help this team win. They’ll just go get another French fuck who won’t do any better though.
As much as I like Montembeault, he is not a Starter, a Fringe Starter at best, but not the guy to have in net almost every game.
I'd say the next thing the Habs should look into now is their goaltending, their prospects aren't really anything to write home about, the prospects in Forward/Defence(mainly) have the potential to be great, but thats down the road..
It’s the Patrick Roy curse. Since the humiliation that was inflicted on a goalie that brought life into the Habs, that game was another example of poor management and coaching decisions…..Mario Tremblay whatever. They haven’t done bananas since 1993. Then in 1995 you get a coach who’s got a giant ego. You can take all your analysis and admit this is the Patrick Roy Curse. IMO
4 of 11… that is exactly where marty's average win percentage is
With so many young players they need to simplify their game and learn to play from the net out. Leafs made the mistake of letting the young guys put up points without being responsible enough in their own end. Only now many years later is that being corrected…and it's still up in the air if the core can actually do it.
If the Habs end up in the lottery again this season with little to no improvement expect Martin St. Louis to be in the hot seat and on a short leash.
MSL is an absolute joke..
What's wrong with?
The Canadians that's simple.
It's not the 70s or the 50s. The real molsen's new had a win Stanley cups. This molson is a beer and hot dog salesman who knows nothing about hockey
The reality of the matter is, any rebuild takes a lot of patience and time and although I fully agree that this team has had their share of very inconsistent, lacklustre games…the Habs are not the only team that has had a flat start to the season. It's still early in the season. A concern I have is this team appearing to be unprepared or showing little to no passion in games which should have inspired a strong effort. I realize the game is played with the players on the ice but the coach has to take some accountability for the lack of preparedness&effort. MSL should definitely start feeling the heat from fans and media because IMO, his lack of inexperience as a coach is starting to be very apparent in his team's play, line up choices and in his media responses. The fact of the matter is this team still lacks the right player puzzle pieces for a competitive team however, it only takes a move or two to suddenly change the narrative/trajectory of a team so no need to panic…yet!
Montreal needs veterans and a good goalie !!!!!!!!!
Same as chess if there's no harmony among your men here there everywhere there's going to be confusion they don't work together as a team the other guy playing black is doing the opposite puts all his pieces on the board on optimal squares from the start they work closely in sync together and follow the plan their assignments. The guy with the white pieces is a mess. He's going to get crushed *shrug*.
