  1. Top priority for the Dodgers is Teoscar (assuming Soto ends up being too expensive). They got enough starters to let Walker walk, although they'd prefer to keep him.

  2. Analytics are clear winners over the course of 162 games, but be ready to throw them out the window when you need to win four of the next seven games, much less five- or three-game series.

  3. Also Dorks of the Week is every online sports streamer/content creator who laughed and applauded the two fans. And even invited them on their show to goof-off about their stupidity.

  4. Things the Yankees need to do:

    1) This is the most obvious, back up the Brinks truck for Soto.
    2) Give the keys to LF to Jasson Dominguez. I like Verdugo’s defense better, but it’s obvious that Dominguez is part of the Yankees future.
    3) Fix 3B once and for all. Chisholm isn’t the answer. If they can get someone that’s average on offense but above average on defense, I’ll take it.
    4) Fix that bullpen. Yes, Weaver did well down the stretch but that bullpen prevented the Yankees from winning 100 games. They were volatile all season. Are Cousins and Leiter long term solutions? The jury is still out on that.
    5) Let Torres walk. I’m sick and tired of him being lackadaisical on defense and being erratic offensively. Is Cabrera the solution? Only one way to find out.

If they tighten the screws a bit, there shouldn’t be any reason why they can’t make another long postseason run. A World Series is never guaranteed. I just want to see the Yankees set a foundation for the long term. There are parts that I like, others not so much. Could they win 94 again? Likely. Outside of Baltimore and maybe Houston, there really isn’t that big of a threat in the AL.

  5. Series wasn't lackluster it was a great close series, the series could have been a lot different if Yankees excuted better. That's what separates Dodgers from Yankees. Dodgers played cleaner baseball and had clutch moments from their entire team and Freeman

  6. The best thing the Dodgers did when the constructed this team (and traded for players), they looked at sound fundamental athletes to add to the team. All the players they got paid attention to the small details when they played their position. This is the complete opposite of how the Yankees stacked their roster. Yankees just looked for HR hitters and threw everything out the window. I hope we play healthier next year and if we do this team has a chance to go back to back.

  7. The more I have engrossed myself into the YouTube channels which are baseball focused and ensure they cover the Dodgers, I am certain this is the best show. I posted before on how much I love Ken's erudite knowledge of baseball and his ability to communicate this brilliance. Ken is only enhanced by Alanna. Alanna is a brilliant analyst in her own right, often adding a perspective that makes Ken ponder and pontificate further – which is likely a key part of her job description and success in this show. Thank you both for this work – I hope we get a continued array of new content from you over the off season.

  8. The Yankees should let Juan Soto walk and spread the resources. They are a heavily flawed team with a lot of players out of position. They also need a more formidable rotation. Carlos Rodon can be awesome at times, but then a complete let down at others. Stroman didn't even pitch, Gil was a rookie, Clark would be a 5th starter on many teams, Cortes hasn't recovered from his injuries. I'd rather see the Yankees become a more well rounded team like the Dodgers or Astros than run out a similar team with so much money tied up in Soto.

  9. Love Ken and Alana as baseball experts but would like to know: where did Alana get that great Dodger T-shirt and how to get it? Love Alana’s work as a counterpoint to Mad Dog also on High Heat

  10. Yankees are the worst baserunning team, one of the worst if not the worst defensive team, can't hit with RISP, everyone trying to hit the ball 800 feet, have the worst manager in baseball, an overrated useless GM, and the ice on the cake: an owner who, for some reason, likes what he sees. They obviously don't care about winning, so why should we?

  11. The Yankees problems start at the top. They do not have anywhere near enough class to ban those two dorks who had planned to do this for who knows how long.

  12. How can NY leading 5 – 0 end up losing???? Do you know in the World Series, no team that was down 3- 0 ever came back and won! LA made history in game 5 from ZERO to winning the World Series! Aaron Judge and Gerrick Cole contributed indirectly because they forgot the fundamentals of baseball! Power or Talent is great but you still need to practice the basics of baseball and this is why I love it..!

  13. As a Dodgers fan it hurts me to say this but go watch game 3 against the Padres, bottom of the 2nd inning. We made all the same mistakes the Yankees made that 5th inning, almost. But in my opinion this is why the Dodgers tightened up their D, we were up 1-0 and the Padres scored 6 in that inning, mostly because of fundamentals.

  14. ALANNA is a dream girl. Imagine how cool and exciting her job is. Her baseball acumen is great too. She was great when she worked for the Dodgers.

  15. Players have improved through analytics,,,you can get a .130 hitter to hit . 205 and to the Yankees that is a great raise in batting average,,,,,analytically 😅 but can he run ot catch a baseball ahahahahahah 😊

  16. Hi Ken. Please have Joe Posnanski and Michael Schur on your show sometime during the offseason to talk about Soto's free agency. That would be really entertaining.
