Hilarious that he says Mahomes shouldnβt try this again because the defense will remember this again. This IS NOT his first time doing this. He has already done this on multiple occasions before. While his throwing is not on par with his previous years his running is still on point, when he chooses to do so. Heβs just a better player than most anyone else. This will not be the last time he does it.
Hunt pushes 53e giving Mahomes the inside route, after the push Hunt then turns attention to 90 and springs Mahomes for an even bigger gain. Great job blocking by Kareem and great vision by Mahomes to make the most of the blocks. No opossum playing here.
I would have dropped 3 of my LBs, and kept the 4th as a spy in case Mahomes decided to roll out of the pocket.
If anyone was in a position to actually hit him then he would have gone out. Heβs not stupid
So we're just going to pretend kareem didn't push the defender so he couldn't get a good angle on mahomes? Okay. Didn't realize I could break down film better than belichick and manning…..
He probably considered going out. Then Hunt showed up, blocked for him & shoved another guy out of the way. That left him a hole and he took it instead of going out of bounds. Mahomes doesn't play those games. He just runs for his life. So sick of this "afraid to tackle" narrative. No. You don't ram someone who has gone out of bounds, but you are well within your rights to tackle h im when he's in bounds.
Bill talking about cheerleaders
This is salty, biased analysis. Mahomes eyes are towards the center of the field *the entire time*. Not once does he act like he's going out of bounds.
Mahomes says, βOkay.β
One thing I dont get from this conversation since it happened is the idea that the only two options are hit him so hard he gets hurt and wont do it again or dont touch him and let him go 30 yards…
Exactly..the next tip toe act he's getting lit up
Everybody forgot about pushing yet it's somehow a cheat that Mahomes is pulling lol copium flows
Tis isn't that bill though… No one mentioned how Hunt messed up the defense with 3 blocks… And also… It's very similar to Tennessee in the playoffs a few years ago
The other reason this play happens is because the rest of the defense has been covering down field… And the pursuit guys are tired from trying to get to Mahomes… He doesn't run a lot… He runs when he needs to.
As a Chiefs fan this worries me because you're right, at some point somebody is going to blow him up. But the simple solution is for the defender to not overshoot it (though Hunt kind of pushed him), and just grab him. You don't have to kill him. Just stop him. If he doesn't over shoot him, wrap him up & they'll blow the whistle. Play over.
It's dangerous, but I think Patrick saw the block & leverage he had to cut back. If the defender doesn't over run the play? I'm guessing he steps out of bounds.
the defender you clowns are putting on blast was pushed out of position.. he was what is commonly referred to as blocked. also this is how many weeks later now? How bored are we at ESPN?
please bring this man back to coach against our Chiefs again. if he's this delusional then it won't go much better than it did in his years with out Brady lol.
He's going to make defenders look stupid because you can't hit him without a penalty. I would rather hit Mahomes as hard as I can and get the flag than not let him dictate how the home team is going to be playing against him. Fred Warner, who's a missile on 99% of tackles doesn't try and wreck Mahomes at full speed? No, he has a split second decision as to whether or not he can tackle Mahomes without drawing a penalty flag. He did the same thing in the Superbowl. Fred, just wreck the dude at this point. I'm sick of players not giving Mahomes the business on the football field.
THAT'S NOT WHAT MAHOMES DID YOU CLOWN π
Are you BOTH out of your minds? Do you seriously both have dementia? I guess this is what you do when you get washed up – you complain about younger talent that's better than you ever were.
Play possum? What an ignorant goober!
You must not watch Chiefs games cause watch what they do to him on the sidelines or even a yard or two outside the sidelines with no flags and then tell me smh or late hits or slapping the neck bending the legs.
These βexpertsβ donβt see that the man was blocked by Hunt, causing him to fly by? ESPN quality analysis againβ¦
So even HOF coaches aren't always right, Hunt blocked #53 and got him off balance making it seem like he overcommitted. Mahomes said that he didn't try to take advantage of a sideline protection "loophole" since he just saw the opening to get more yards. He knows when to and when not to go out of bounds, he's not gonna risk unnecessary contact by relying on the QB sideline protection rule for no reason, people that have that opinion must think Mahomes is dumb
What this makes no sense Belichick go away and stop talking nonsense.
Ask the Bengals about smashing him into the benches π
Good luck with that Bill! π It seems to happen quite often because sometimes he does go out of bounds and guys get penalties and sometimes he fakes them out and goes for 20 yards. He just had a few more plays this week with his magic! π These guys hate the Chiefs like people used to hate the Patriots. Come on Bill, you should know what it's like. π
