  1. I have no idea why people think doc is a good coach. He's basically under performed on every team he's been on.

People bring up his winning record to justify him but even a dam child could win with the teams he's had.

  2. Doc pointed out another issue with the poor shooting from Mil.

Teams are pressing Dame and not letting him bring the ball up, which is allowing Giannis to feast, but every time Giannis kicks it out for an open 3, they’ve been missing, so teams keep pressing Dame, if you make a few, they’ll decide to get back and stop letting Giannis play 4 on4.

  3. Jason, while the numbers may support your tyus Jones theory I disagree. I would lead you to look at the turnover numbers which was their biggest killer last year. I've noticed this year that when one of the superstars make a turnover that they're immediately on the next play getting off the ball for tyus to bring up. While I also agree that Dunn should start I also think that beal should be the one to come off the bench or get traded for a better centre.

  4. The more time that passes the more i am dumbfounded that Damian Lillard is a top 75 player and guys like Draymond Green, Kyrie Irving, Klay Thompson and DWIGHT HOWARD are not. Other than Dame’s 7 all NBA teams (1 being 1st team), what has he accomplished? No MVP’s, no championships, no All Defense, no DPOY. Out of his 9 seasons in the playoffs, he made it to the Conf. Finals once, and was bounced in the 1st round 6 of those 9 years (4 sweeps!) He’s given us great moments for sure, but for years we’ve taken pity on him for being in a bad situation. Now he’s playing next to Giannis and he looks like this?

  5. Warriors actually seem like a good trade partner for them. And no not the click bait Giannis stuff.

Warriors have an abundance of what they need: Perimeter Defense. Meanwhile Warriors need a stretch big to unlock the Kuminga lineups.

  6. Mailbag question:

Looking back, do you think the Buddenholzer firing was a mistake? Obviously the team looks very different, but I feel like the Bucks were at or near 60 wins every year before Buddenholzer got fired, and things are looking a lot better over in Phoenix than they have in the last couple years

  7. All this talk about Doc is silly. He's an average coach. Bucks have a flawed but generally talented roster. They're going through a massive shooting slump that's impacting players' confidence and attention to detail. That shooting slump compounds the flaws, chiefly among them lack of athleticsm at nearly every position.

Outside of Giannis the best athletes are Marjon, who doesnt have an elite NBA attribute and cant crack the rotation, and Andre Jackson, who is almost terrified of taking open layups. If the Bucks shots arent falling teams run out on them, even if the Bucks stop the fast break sometimes they're in bad cross match positions. We've seen a team that struggled to hit their shots and that impacted their entire season on both ends of the floor. Once those shots started falling it completely flipped their script, 2022-2023 Miami Heat who the season prior was the number 1 seed in part to strong 3 pt shooting. The Bucks coaching staff need to keep pushing players to shoot with confidence and Giannis/Dame to continue to seek out 3 pt shots. They either do that or flip their best assets into playable athletes/roll the dice and play their young athletes.

  8. MAILBAG QUESTION:

I just need Jason to know that the player leading the Bucks in minutes is not Giannis, or Dame, or Lopez, but none other than the GOAT himself Taurean Prince 🐐

    I wonder why this is??????

  9. minute 54. Timpf makes an EXCELLENT point about quick perimeter defense. Nobody else in the NBA talks about this. Its critically important inn the modern NBA…Good work Jason

  10. Mailbag: As a life long warriors fan I'm glad to see us doing the things we are doing this year but I'm more logical and realistic than most warriors fan most of the time. I believe the 2 timeline team ended when we traded Jordan Poole,, who I think had a higher ceiling than every young player on our roster except for kuminga. Knowing that we need a trade this year,, what players would you trade for the big forward you are talking about?

  11. the nuanced perspective of a hooper abt shooters rhythm n how to defend great offensive players etc is the distinguishing feature of this show 👏 keep it coming !

agree 100% its abt disrupting rhythm. it could be reaching for the ball, beating guys to their spot n being physical, and/or a real contest does the same thing! there are contests that look good in a still frame but at full speed you can see the shooter is unbothered. goal w a contest is to create some indecision or doubt in the players mind when they get ready to shoot – you have to make them think "is he going to get this?" "do i need to fade or adjust my footwrk?" "do i have enough space to land" "is this a good shot" etc.. n you have to introduce the doubt in between the time the player has made a decision to shoot n b4 he actually shoots it. so theres no time to counter. that gets harder n harder the more improvisational the player is. its requires a ton of anticipation. thats where that jaylen brown quote abt a players rhythm comes in. on the other hand the best offensive guys anticipate back based on their assessment of the defenders' assessment of their rhythm n approach to guarding lol. the best are unpredictable n improvisational – on both sides of the ball. its a mental battle fr

  12. Remember how much Timpf loved the Lillard trade when it happened? Maybe these "analysts" should be required to qualify their current analysis with historical context. If you want to sell yourself as an expert hold yourself accountable.
