  1. B’s fan. There were 4 Bruins players BELOW the goal line chasing the puck vs the Canes the other night that directly led to a goal and it pretty much sums up the season so far. There’s no system, everyone’s puck watching and Monty blenders the lines every game. They can turn it around and I believe they will but right now, woof.

  2. Well, they went from the indomitable Chara and the perennial Selke award winner in Bergeron to Brad Marchand Leading the way. Marchand is a rat. Not a leader. If your captain is nimrod and a snake, then what chance do you have? That poison stems from the top down. Someone in charge decided to put the C on him. And someone in charge is keeping the C on him. This honestly couldn't happen to a better team.

  3. Of course they're still the Bruins! Unfortunately, though, it's a really bad version of the Bruins. The all-around poor play has been astounding this season, though we saw signs pointing to it last season too. It's clear that the Bruins are in rebuilding mode whether they know it or not. I think it's time for some major housecleaning, top to bottom. Sweeney and Neely, Montgomery, and the under-performing players. It happens to all teams in all sports, and now it's the Bruins' turn.

  4. I'm a szn ticket holder for the AHL Bruins and this collapse has been building from the bottom up for years.

They turn everyone who gets sent their long term into Boston Bruins in the most insulting and derogatory sense of the Bruins. Fourth line grinders who hit and punch but don't add much else. Brazeau, Wotherspoon, hell I see them try to turn their fastest player on hand, Lysell, into that. To his detriment. Beecher too suffered from that.

Management took all the wrong lessons from getting their asses handed to them from Florida. They thought they got outmuscled — they didn't. They got outplayed. Florida is a physical team but it's fast, it's quick, and it's smart. You don't beat that by only adding guys over 6'4 and 200lbs over the summer when they don't have anything else to offer. The team's built badly, its own identity as the Big Bad Bruins gets in the way of adapting.

  5. Let’s be real they overachieved last year. I think they can still make the playoffs but they aren’t a real cup contender. They don’t have a real #1 center

  6. The only saving grace for me is that their advanced stats (especially goal scoring) is so atrocious that is not sustainable. They’re bound for a at least a little bit of a bounce back. Similar to when a player has a super high shooting percentage or a team has a ridiculous PP% percentage to start a season and everybody knows it will come back to earth. It’s kinda like that but the other way around. They have 4 5v5 goals from their top 9 forwards this season. Yea they might be bad… but nobody is that bad. They’ll bounce back a little bit when the goal scoring figures it out. I just don’t know if it’ll be enough.

  7. In the vein of the Oilers last season I'm almost happy we look bad right now. As a Bruins fan I'm pretty sick of riding high in the regular season and disappointment in the playoffs. Monty's going nowhere, veteran leadership needs to step up. Let's go boys!

  8. Bruins fans: Swayman is an elite goalie
Non bruins fans: Swayman is an elite goalie he should be paid like one

Me: lol clueless hockey fans who knows jackshit

  9. B's fan here- gotta say, it is a little wild to see everyone go surprised Pikachu face after hearing "the Bruins are gonna fall off" every year now that it's actually happening. But yeah, it ain't pretty. We got through the Centennial very well without Bergy and Krech, now it seems nobody planned ahead to get the new era going that we all knew had to come.

  10. Bruins don’t have the horses this year to be anything beyond a team that has to battle for a playoff spot. Having said that, I think there is a morale problem holding them back. It might be lack of interest in the regular season. As a Bruins fan, I hope they get out of their funk soon. They have been painful to watch, but luckily I record the game and watch later so I can fast forward through the rough parts.

  11. Sweeney has never built a good team, he took a core that was really good and floundered the last half of their careers

He blames the players and coaches but he’s never built a team skilled and tough enough to win

He always overvalued skill and not enough tough players on the ice
Now he’s learned that lesson and put enough toughness but not enough skill on the ice

Sweeney is the problem, I’ve said it for a decade

If it wasn’t for the core superstars that Sweeney didn’t contribute too, Bergeron, krechi, chara, Marchand and then to pasta and Mcavoy, this team would be a bottom of the barrel team

  12. It's gonna be a long season. I don't think their making playoffs. Boston is a diehard sports market tho I don't think they'll tolerate mediocrity for long. Heads will roll before things change

  13. 12th yougest team, only 1 player over 30+. A lot of their young guns have been promoted up the lineup and its been pretty rough. IMO their still 1 top 6 forward short of true contending status. Theyll be fine but it won't be a smooth path.

  14. Bs are my second fav team(yes ik as a rangers fan that’s odd but who cares) and man…they made a whole lot of weird off season moves that I personally wouldn’t have, but I didn’t think it would go downhill so fast. Hope they can turn it around

  15. Our rat taking the captain C has changed him a lot. For good of course. But they need to bring back the physical game. They are the heaviest team on skates right now and are barely putting work with the bodies. Up the physicality and they will be back to low scoring with good goaltending and pasta playing the puck.

  16. It's WAY too early in the season to be giving up on the Bruins. There are a lot of teams who expected big things and haven't started off sharp. Colorado and Nashville are two teams I can think of that started off rocky, Edmonton too to an extent. Good thing they play 82 in the NHL.

  17. Maybe Canucks let Lindholm walk because he wasn't good in the regular season. He was great in the playoffs though but he's not inspired in the regular season. And fan favourite Zadorov used the Canucks as contract leverage to land a huge contract because he loves his expensive suits. He too is a playoffs, not regular season guy!

  18. It's been a month. Relax everybody. Remember when they won 65 regular season games and it added up to nothing? Get to the dance in April. 1st seed or 8th seed. That's all that really matters. Cup or bust every year
