Soto has a big ego and is in the shadow of Judge. I don't feel Atkins could get it done, lost all my confidence in this management.
Your dreaming about both players. Rogers is to busy counting their money to give too much of it away!!!
Ohtani was worth 460m. There's no way Soto is worth 140m+ more than ohtani.
The first thing the Jays need to do is settle Vlad. The second thing is to decide what to do with Bo
I agree with Peter here. Soto is a heck of a player for sure but a team would be nuts to pay him Ohtani money. Soto wasn't as good as Judge on his own team. He's more like a 400$ guy in my book. Ohtani hits just as well, runs better, pitches and has Japan money in his back pocket. Any team would love to have Soto, but he's not worth what he's asking for.
The sooner the fanbase realizes as long as we have Mark Shapiro running this franchise we will NEVER be a serious team, the better. I repeat, With Mark Shapiro running this team, we will NEVER be a serious team.
way to much money!
You said Juan Soto was a former Blue Jay? I can't recall ever seeing him with the Blue Jays at all or in their system. Are you sure he's a former Blue Jay?
You got to be kidding me. Just like the fake Ohtani pursuit last year that they knew full well he wasn't coming here.
So over spend and u get posdibly 4 extra games at home and a ws ?? Or build a team , sprinkle in a star or two …a few over achievers ..and get the same thing …protect Vladdy , get another #1 starter , improve bullpen , go w youth ..
Soto is one player for 700 million, we could get 3-4 players for that money , he is using the Jays to get better offers
Very simple. Make your offer and if he doesn't go for it within a reasonable time, you withdraw and announce it.
As long as Roger's owns the Jay's, they are toast
Nobody is going to pay Soto 700mil.Nobody is worth more than Ohtani. If Soto is willing to take 600mil it means he'll take 550-75 and likely get that
the thing is Ohtani is an elite pitcher AND an elite bat. Signing him is like signin two superstar players at that position thats why hes worth more then soto.
#pipedream would just use the Jays to prop up the value, just like what happened with Ohtani
Soto is not nearly what Ohtani is worth … Ohtani brings waaaaaay more off the field value
Soto said he was open to playing for 30 teams, and that winning is important him. That second part disqualifies the Blue Jays, who finished in last place and consist of mostly Triple A guys. Remember, Soto's definition of "winning" is not Shapiro's: Soto wants to win the world series, not sneak into a second wild card spot and get eliminated.
He is not a smart ball hitter actually,we don't know why blue jays are very interested for him and aside from that he seems to be arrogant
Juan Soto is staying in New York.. METS
$701M for 14 years = $50M/year!
