He can’t keep getting away with this

Coming into this matchup between the Anaheim Ducks and the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Penguins were the 2nd last team in the league, on a 6 game losing streak with just 3 wins in their first 11 games equating to the worst start in the Crosby era. Things aren’t going well and I couldn’t think of anything scarier on Halloween night than to face the potential of the 5th youngest team in the Ducks putting the 2nd oldest team the Penguins into last place. With the Sharks winning their game over in San Jose, a loss to the Ducks would have insured just that.. Now while the Penguins absolutely peppers Dostal, he put on a show stopping all 29 shots from the 1st and 2nd and if this what the nightmare at PPG, Lukas Dostal was Freddy Krueger. Sure enough, it was the Ducks who scored first with Zegras linking up with Killorn in the first period. So who else but Sidney Crosby would put the team on his back and score a pair of incredible goals in the 3rd period and the game winner in OT. Even cooler, he did it while Ovechkin scored his 4th in 4 games to get within just 36 goals of tying Gretzky’s record. A thrilling night! I cover it all in todays NHL hockey video!

  1. Of course they’re on a bad start. Crosby’s 37, Evgeni’s 38, Letang’s 37. They’re the SA Spurs of the NHL. They’re old as shit. It’s time to move Malkin and get something out of them while they still CAN. Crosby will retire a Pen that’s obvious. But they need to make some moves and get something that’s under 30 while they can. I’m tired of every line being over 30 dudes that can barely skate anymore. Yeah they still have their bag, they can still dangle and shoot the shit out of it, but their endurance and speed is beyond gone. It left years ago.

  2. Great call on Crosby, mate, fun video. Sid the Kid still amazes me. He should replace Bettman when he retires then we'd have a class act leading the NHL.

  3. Sid is exactly the kind of franchise player you want to bring to your team. He’s brought the city multiple championships and has always done everything the right way. He never got into any trouble off the ice and has always worked his ass off. I believe if we had moved some people for draft picks after our back to back cups, we’d be cup contenders now. In my mind, Sid was always the only one I wanted to see on our team for their entire career. I would have moved Malkin and Letang for some good draft picks after those two cups while their stock was high. If he had some high caliber younger players to play alongside him that developed over the past several years and a dependable goalie, we’d be in a great position to win another cup. I know he’s getting old, but he’s still THAT good.

  4. As soon as I saw Dostal in the net, I knew he was much better than Gibson. Having said that, if anybody can lose to Pittsburgh it would be the ducks. Their defense sucks.
