POSTCAST: Wild Return Home and Beat Lightning 5-3!

The Minnesota Wild continued their winning ways by completing a season sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning with a 5-3 win at Xcel Energy Center Friday night. The Wild improved to 7-1-2 and rallied from a 1-0 deficit in the second period thanks to the 5th goal of the season from Joel Eriksson Ek. The Wild took a 2-1 lead on a goal from Brock Faber, his 2nd of the season. After the Lightning tied the score at 2-2, Kirill Kaprizov scored his first goal of the game to give the Wild a 3-2 lead. Matt Boldy added an empty netter, his 5th goal of the year to make it 4-2, but the Lightning scored an extra attacker goal to make it 4-3. Kaprizov scored his second goal of the night to cap the scoring and seal the win with the net empty. The Wild improved to 2-0-1 at home to start the year. The Wild were 0/2 on the Power Play and went 2/4 on the Penalty Kill. Filip Gustavsson stopped 27 of 30 shots to pick up the win. The Wild host Toronto on Sunday for their next game.

  9. Rumor has it the Team practices quite a bit on their off days, maybe the old ways w no practice and continued days off for rest doesn’t work. Who woulda thunk Practice Makes Perfect. Now if they can just practice the PK that detriment will eventually bite them in the rearend.
