#Seahawks issues “NOT X’s and O’s,” according to coach Macdonald

The problems on BOTH sides of the ball for the 4-4 #Seahawks have been prominent following a beat down at the hands of Buffalo, but after hearing Coach Macdonald’s thoughts in the Week 8 episode of ‘The Mike Macdonald Show’ – the focus is put squarely on the roster for Brock Huard & Mike Salk.

  4. Mike McDonald should be fired. He's clearly in over his head. He's a bad coach and brought in a bad coaching staff. what we are seeing on the field, both play wise and the attitudes being shown on the field and on the sideline, prove that this coaching staff should be gone. They have proven that they dont know how to coach at the pro level. Just remember that they let Pete go for this.

  6. I always feel like when the pieces in a play break apart, it usually comes down to the individual execution of their assignment. Maybe that parlays into the talent discussion, i.e., getting outplayed at your position. We know from the data that Geno is one of the highest-pressured QBs in the league through almost half the season. That is a telling stat. Continuity of a football team is a beautiful thing when it's your team doing it and frustrating when it's not.

  7. As Mike has stressed running, the ball is a team stat. Our Oline doesn't seem able to set up a double team. When we give K9 the smallest of margins, he will get you over 4 yards a tote. When that happens, we can go on a 13 play drive. The defense will be rested. Almost every play on Sunday Walker had a Bill in the back field. Would a healthy Abe Lucas help you bet. To me the leaks seem to be coming through the guard, tackle area. We are 8 games into the season, its time to play future Hall of Famer Jason Peters
    Mike said if needed, he was ready to play two weeks ago. It's time for the entire teams sake. Mike don't let John Schneider talk you out of playing him just to save a little cap money for next year 😊

  9. Gonna make my own comment too, to support Coach Mike. He is just starting! He's molding a team right now, actively. The way everyone is acting, it's like you'd expect to go to a new restaurant and have the great meal you imagined in your head at the table, hot and ready for you. A regular restaurant wouldn't do that for you let alone a new one! How could anyone? He just got in the kitchen and is actively inventorying his supplies he inherited. Checking out the spices, finding out the ingredients are mislabeled. Give the guy a chance! Brand new crew of coaches, a whole new vision for the team; there's a reason why they packed away the posters and whatnot. It's time for new things to happen, and he's working on it! I can even see flashes of what he wants. They just haven't been formed as a team yet.

  10. We are losing games st home. Maybe the noise factor is too much for a complicated defense and that’s why our defense sucks at home. Legion of boom was a straight up defense, less complicated with outstanding players. Therefore noise was no problem but rather an asset,

  16. “We don’t know who we are” just means you aren’t good any anything. The Seahawks don’t have an “identity” because no position group is that good, and QB is bottom 20. They need to rebuild

  19. We suck it's depressing af. Work sucks when we lose. After Geno kicked us and tried to shame Seattle to the national media, he can ease on down the road for all i care. Im not a fan of him anymore

  20. The Seahawks are 32nd last in the league in $$$ spent on Oline. Their % of cap money spent on Oline is anywhere from 6.5% to 8.5% based on Spotrac and another article I read. By comparison in their own division Rams invest 24%, 49ers 19%, and Cardinals 15% and John Schneider is on record stating interior Lineman is not an area he wants to invest $$$.
    They have invested draft capital but most of the players he has drafted have not been offered 2nd contract. I Think Justin Britt has been the only starter that they reupped, Okung left after his rookie deal was up. The only significant move was to trade for Duane Brown and he was a multiple pro Bowler with the Hawks and definitely worth his contract. So, IMO John Schneider and his philosophy needs to be held accountable for the Offensive line which has been rated near the bottom in the league for years. Every year same old question why can't we run the ball well to balance out the offense and keep the defense off the field.
    The lack of talent is a good place to start.

    I think Coach McDonald is a good defensive coach and needs some time to get the players use to his system.
