  1. Surprised the way the game was going that the Jets didn’t muck this one up by knocking it into the end zone. 75 yards and it only ranks third for the Jets. Back in ‘69 they were playing Denver and had to punt from their own one. Steve O’Neal kicked a mammoth kick that should have been a sixty yarder. The Bronco return man nonchalanted it, touched, then had to chase it back to the five, then ran backwards trying to get to the corner (if he’d gotten there he might have scored) only to get nailed at the one. 98 yards !!! IIRC (I was watching on TV) the next time he punted it was to the same returner with similar results, going for 78 yards. Next punt, new return man.
