Denver Broncos Make GREAT Moves before NFL Trade Deadline!

Denver Broncos Make GREAT Moves before NFL Trade Deadline!

The Denver Broncos make some brilliant moves before the NFL trade deadline and I don’t think they are done! Though it would be easy to feel discouraged after the tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens, the Denver Broncos have shown a commitment to building trust within the locker room by re-signing Jonathon Cooper to a four-year deal. This is fantastic news for a few reasons.

First, it proves that under Sean Payton, the Denver Broncos are a meritocracy—if you perform, you get rewarded. Cooper has exceeded expectations, playing well beyond his 7th-round draft status, and the team recognized him for it. Players like Nik Bonnitto and others have expressed how thrilled they are for Cooper, admiring his work ethic and the way he carries himself on and off the field. Despite the recent loss, he’s been one of the most fired-up and dedicated players in that locker room.

Second, Cooper took a hometown discount, which is huge. He’s currently the 22nd highest-paid edge rusher, and if he’d waited for free agency, he could’ve easily gotten more on the open market. I love that we’ve locked in a player beloved by his teammates who also chose to stay in Denver, showing his commitment to the orange and blue.

A big reason this deal was possible is that the Broncos traded Baron Browning. Although he was a 3rd-round pick from Ohio State with high expectations, he struggled with injuries. The Arizona Cardinals offered a 6th-round pick for him, which seems like a solid return for a rotational edge rusher who will need to be signed to a long term deal next season.

Rumors are still swirling that the Denver Broncos aren’t done yet. Could they move one of their backup quarterbacks, Stidham or Zac Wilson? The Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers have banged up quarterbacks and want to win now. What might they offer us? Or maybe Greg Dulcich? There’s even talk that they could go after a pass-catcher like Evan Engram, David Njoku, or Tee Higgins. The team is stacking up trade assets to make something big possible.

Let me know in the comments who you think we should target and whether the Ravens’ loss changes your view on the Broncos’ competitiveness this season!

  1. I thought we'd get a bit more than a 6th but then I saw he has 0 sacks on the year + been injured the last few seasons + in a contract year and I'm kinda OK with a 6th especially if we weren't going to resign him

  2. My God you click babe you don’t one back to it your headline you’re not done yet making great moves telling me shit. I already know you were so on grade. Greg is great day now. Greg hurt all the time to anybody besides Bo Nix

  3. Lots of us are still excited about this team but there are many who don't expect the team to ball out against REALLY GREAT teams yet. It's just starting to get good and in 1 or 2 more seasons we will be there. We have our QB, now build around him and it will happen.

  4. The 4 comments just before me 👇 all of you think we should have gotten more for Browning??? He is injury prone, has 7 tackles & 0 sacks this year AND he is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. We were lucky someone gave us a 6th in reality. Great job by George Paton.

  5. As a Denver Broncos fan, I'd be happy with the 9-8 season if we make it to the playoffs awesome that is even more upside. But I do think a little more for barren. Browning would've been good because he's still a really good player, and to get a sixth round pick is not that good for how good he is.

  6. I swear I seen Jonathan Cooper’s friends promoting him in the corner of a parking lot outside of mile high stadium before game day one time. I’ve never seen anything like that before. this dude must have some great friends and must be a real hell of a man. I am proud when I go and buy his jersey tomorrow.

  7. You are right about everything you said about the lost yesterday we played them after a loss that they really should have won but it's ok let's go on to the next one

  8. And thanks for all of your 👍🏿 Ben glad you are a broncos fan bro you have me bo lieveing and I'm with the Denver Broncos to the death and my favorite part of the day was are both moves it makes sense

  9. I'm still a BO-liever! I honestly believe that if Nix didn't get picked off on that opening drive he would've lead them down field for the first score of the game. I like the Cooper deal a lot! Bring in Higgins. We need guys that can catch.

  10. One bad game does not define this team, we’re gonna beat the Chiefs, we did it last year and we are more then Capable of doing it again. GO BRONCOS!
