  1. Attitude and fragility are red flags too big for me. If we’re going the trade route instead of FA’s, then more of sure thing even with a slightly lower ceiling. If we had made the playoffs this year, you’d be looking for that final piece (á la Schilling) to put you over the top, but let’s get there first.

  2. So remember last off season i said the Sox should've tried to land him but this year his value is so high and the fact that Fried is out there for just cash why would you give up that much for a less proven starter (he was mainly a bullpen guy before this past year). Would he be good, probably but it would 1000% be better to sign Fried instead and if you still want to trade people then do it for a second player or a group of players such as Castillo and maybe a bull pen piece.

  3. So they tried to have him throw a slider but it was missing too often so they changed the grip on his cutter and that pitch had so much natural movement it was devastating righties down and in. He also added a sinker at the end of the season that was nasty. Outside of Sasaki (who let’s face it is going to the dodgers) he should be the number 1 target. Getz even mentioned that it’s nice to have a framework for a recent deal like he just had with cease.

Cease went for Hampton (85th prospect via pipeline) low A outfielder who isn’t on their top 30, iriarte is a high upside starter (maybe a number 3) but major reliever risk, and a journeyman reliever. This will not take a top 25 prospect in baseball like any of the big 4. Depends on what they’re looking for. Do they want ready made talent for the majors? Connor Wong, David Hamilton, Wilyer Abreu, Kutter Crawford or anyone on the back end of the 40. Do they want high upside prospect like the password or Miguel Bleis? Do they want versatile steady player like Chase meidroth? They could go in a lot of directions but to me, crochet doesn’t have the same track record as cease, he also has much more injury concern. He threw 73 innings combined before this season. To ask for a big 4, there is no team that will come close to that unless they believe Jackson Holliday still has mvp potential.

I think Kutter/abreu/meidroth/winckowski or throw in the password instead of abreu if they want someone further away, throw in Sandlin if they want a high upside starter in place of meidroth but that’s your package. With Kutter they will have a proven innings eater who if he gets any better in a year or two they can flip him for even more prospects. Combination of K:BB, whiff, chase and groundball rate make me think he’s a risk worth taking

  4. Like most fans I'd prefer they sign free agents however with this ownership that seems unlikely. My guess is they will overpay for Crochet. Also if you get anymore emails from redsoxfan38 I was hacked so please ignore. What a hassle 🤯

  5. I heard about another trade idea that has Yoshida being traded for another bad contract like Montgomery. Breslow can trade for almost any pitcher that he wants. Brewslow has to balance this roster. Million of options. I was somewhat impressed by Brewslow's first year. Sure Giolito got hurt+his trade deadline trades were a complete disaster. Some of it was just bad luck and Henry's stinginess.

  6. I think crochet would be a good guy to get but again I don’t know if they are gonna try to spend money but yes that would be a good idea you got and it could possibly happen but it depends on what the Red Sox spend

  7. I’m trying to maintain a positive attitude but I get annoyed with their “small market” narrative. If I’m reading it correctly they’re the third most profitable team in the MLB.

  8. Isn’t this the Marcelo argument as regards to injury? Like you said everyone has an injury risks…I see this as more likely to a big contract for a frontline pitcher.

  9. For me its more about what we're giving up for Crochett. Abrue's value is sky high right now so if its him you can avoid sending one of our top 5 prospects out, but who knows who will be the odd man out.

  10. damn the talent is there but its so risky. as you said corb if you can get him without giving uo your big 4 then go for it. but until then oofff idk if im willing to deal with the cons he has

  11. Too many prospects and not enough room for them all. Im in for a trade of this caliber. Also hoping for Fried and either Montgomery or Gomber…great video Corbin….see everyone tonight! Love lives! Enough though im 2 yrs behind 😅
