  1. It's often better to leave a young player doing well in the AHL, than send him up to only send him back down 2 wks later. If Roy is not coming up to likely stay, leave him down to learn to win.

  2. The KHL player rating is a number that encompasses a plethora of sophisticated evaluative metrics – to be at the top with this rating is very meaningful as it touches many aspects of what makes a hockey player valuable ans contributing to his team.

  3. I think Gignac or Barré-Boulet would be better suited to be brought up instead of taking the captain from a very successful Laval Rocket team, but that is micromanaging. Congrats to Kapanen for making the roster and making it a tough choice to send him back.

  4. Furthermore, on Oliver Kapanen:

HE saw what's needed to have success in the NHL, he saw what the level is like and what he needs to work on.
He's going to be amazing next year.

  5. Oliver played his best. I mean he only got two points but I didn't see a lot of mistakes in give aways that I saw from many veteran's. The funny thing is he sounds elated to go back to Finland. I think he felt slightly overwhelmed. Honestly we have a good AHL team that's doing well let's let those players develop properly. Montreal's issue is it's veterans. The giveaways are just killing us. There was less yesterday but still too much. I don't understand why we are holding on to Matheson or Dvorak.

  6. They want Roy to keep working, not 3 good games and come over. I mean he had an empty net, so its more like 6 real goals. Beck too they want then to work hard for long not have 3 to 8 good games, its a good thing. Kappanen was jtst there thats not good enough, so lm glad hes back in Europe.

  7. Kap to SHL good call. Condatta, meh, he's a body to plug in at this point. Leaving Roy in Laval doesn't suck out their offence. Use the body to make room for the skilled forwards, so utilise Pezz and Arber more as long the hits are hard and clean and they don't take stupid instigator penalties. In other words, get the mad out. Thanks guys.

  8. Seems like they were looking for a center and 4th liner to call up. Neither description fits Roy. Also, as a few others have said It's gonna be good for Roy and the other young players to win and get the experience in the AHL.

It might also be a bit of a reward for Condotta being a team first guy. Remember him playing some defense shifts in the pre-season when they played with 4 dmen. Imagine that left a good impression on team management and coaching. Maybe this mentality can rub off on a few other players…

  9. Regarding why Condotta got called up and not Roy:

Habs are trying to shore up their all-around game and they called up the guy with the exemplary character. This sends a message to others that skill isn't prioritized over being a pro.

  10. Maybe revisit Zegras ..cheaper price now …maybe a change of scenery will work out …We need more scoring …AND …A GOALIE ….A LEGIT ..N.H.L. STARTER ..!!😊
