Bill Simmons on the Miami Heat on the Bill Simmons Podcast:
“I believe it’s over for these guys. I think the league is better and they stayed the same. They just seem like they missed their window, which was a great window btw. Butlers 35, they put a lot of eggs in the Jovic basket, I’m not seeing it.”

  1. Yes, the other team from the eastern conference team's getting a little bit much better than they are, and we're not putting a fight

We should have gone to the nba finals in 2022, If we had a better roster to pick up we would have had a chance to win

  2. Bruh, that window BEEN closed. Jimmy is 35 you add on Tibbs years and he's like 40. It's peaked already. Core needs to change. Great run though but they starting to go out sad.

  3. I think it’s time to give up on a lot of things, you definitely DO NOT give up on Jovic.

I think maybe they should give up on him being a 4, you can take him out of the starting line up, sure.

Jovic is uniquely skilled at his size, but the problem is, the Heat are leaning into his size more than his skills. He’s a gigantic, ball handling, playmaking guard. That’s what he was coming into the league, but they wanted to make him a front court player.

I think they should let him run the 2nd unit as a primary ball handler. You saw a little bit of it in the preseason game against Memphis, and I thought he looked great. He can punish guards by driving on them or just pass right over them. You can play with MUCH bigger lineups. There’s a lot of advantages you can create by having a guard that big, but the Heat need to care to try it.

There are 4 other guys on the starting unit that have more responsibility, have more experience, are higher in the pecking order, getting paid 20x more than Jovic. To blame him is crazy.

He does need to improve his shooting and finishing at the rim, tho.
