  1. It sounds to me like woody keeps telling JD to get things done, so he keeps just adding future money to deals to get them done with the idea that hes not gonna have to deal with those problems next year cus hes out

  2. Mike Williams, for whatever reason, just didn't seem to mesh into the admitted chaos well. It happens. He didn't pull a Haynesworth in Washington kind of thing (God, how old am I?) but he just didn't fit. Getting any value for such an accomplished player is good though I think he was probably worth more than a 5th rounder. But whatever worked out is fine. The apparent willingness to pay him to play for someone else seems bizarre. Perhaps that'll get clarified though.

It interests me to see so many players potentially heading to the door this offseason. It might make sense though since it means the next head coach and GM duo will have the chance to shape the team from the get go by pursuing their type of players for a variety of positions instead of being somewhat stuck with guys and contracts that won't fit the new scheme. That would seem to be a very smart move from an ownership point, and I'm not used to that from the Jets' owner. Maybe the people with brains in the front office have worked it out on the sly, which would make sense.

Woody apparently decided that this year was a lost cause and tanking was the plan when he fired Saleh so early in the season. Yet the interim HC seems to be finding ways to win which might undercut that plan. Either way, while it might not be a productive year on the field it might be a very interesting offseason for the Jets.

Yeah, it sucks to be saying that at the midpoint of the season. Oh well…

  3. the jets like to sell the story that they value character and chemistry over all other things.. but they don't always recognize it, and its simply and clearly evident because of how they have played .. their record really speaks to the character of the players the coaches the front office and the owner.. and Douglass… across the board this year… has totally screwed the pooch!.. you can't argue otherwise

  4. And that's my problem right there why trade him away to a team that is already hot on a winning streak that you have to pay him this year and next year when he was just on a one-year deal and makes no sense to me, especially when you have Allen Lazard that's out for 4 weeks and you're trying to possibly make a run at the wild card, but best of luck to him I was definitely the ones excited I thought he was going to be our Brandon Marshall of this era, but you can't win them all

  5. Just a heads up with NIL running college programs, a huge talking point this year will be how many players stayed in college and how it's diluted draft pick value. That 5th this year is going to be looked at more like a 7th in previous years in a lot of people's eyes.

  6. Don’t forget the Steelers caught Douglas sleeping a couple of years back. Traded with belichek to get pick in front of jets and drafted o lineman. Joe laughed it off on video.

  7. No, like I mentioned in one of your past post, Pack fans said it just after the trade, Jet fans prepare for AR to tune out other receivers and focus only on Lazard. That's all you seen from this man outside the Pats game at home where he distributed the ball to different players effectively. He focuses on a particular player and a particular route and if the defense shut that down, it's down hill from there and you see it. This is Mike Williams we're talking about here. How in 8 weeks you not find more touches for 6-4 threat? He is particular? Particular in what? My man looked horrible throwing the ball to even the worst team's defense. If it wasn't for Wilson's insane catches we would be having a total different conversation today.

  8. When you are a player who demands top dollar on the receiver market and are limited then what are you demanding specific money for? Mainly being a jump ball receiver is like being a Center in the new days who can’t shoot and can only dunk. He’s not in the right but Jets should’ve never signed him but yall have to remember it was uncertain the raiders would trade him because we tried last year

  9. Mike WIlliams paid the price for horrible Jet coaching. It is absolutely ridiculous that the Jet offensive coaching staff did not know how to use a player with his skill set or included plays in the playbook that were geared towards Mike's strengths. If they knew he was recovering from an achilles tear and wasn't as fast why didn't they use him as a short to medium yardage receiver? Watch him explode with the Steelers offense, meanwhile the Jets will continue to drown in mediocrity. Think about how horrible the fact is that IF the Jets manage to get to .500 it will have taken a total of 12 games out of a 17 game season merely to get to 6-6. This is an absolute horror show and a waste.
