Feels like a one year “prove it” kind of deal. Not saying he has to win the World Series but I feel like he gets canned if they end up having a season similar to ‘21 or ‘23 or they have an early playoff exit
I hope he gets an extension. He has one of the best winning percentages of Yankee managers. They just made the World Series too.

It was as if millions of Yankee fans suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
I like Boone
The club option was right in front of them, in front of us.
So Boone gets shit on very hard by fans. But what is he good at? The Yankees obviously see immense value in Boone. I would find it hard to believe if they don’t know the immense pressure from the fans so they obviously see something. Do the players absolutely love him or something? What is his upside?

It is somewhat amusing to watch fans despise a manager after their team made it to the WS.
Like, I get it. They got to the WS in spite of Boone, not because of Boone. But most fanbases would be demanding for their manager to get Manager of the Year if they made to the WS
But I was told by twitter that Boone would be ejected into the sun. Luckily as a Dodger fan I have never had to deal with people calling for a great manager to be fired

You have to admit, basing your managerial hiring on whether the candidate hit a key HR against the Red Sox has paid off time and again.
After being dragged through the mud following their WS performance, It would be quite the redemption story if the Yanks cleaned up their shortcomings, righted the ship and won the whole godamn thing. I love redemption stories.

As a Red Sox fan, I approve of this decision. Watching the Yanks faceplate in the WS was almost as satisfying as watching the Sox win one.
