idk why so many of you guys want Demar up there? It’s like the Hawks retiring Al Horford’s number. Lowry won a title and best player in franchise history, Vince was teh first superstar with the team. Demar was a pretty good player that consistently underperformed in the playoffs, not sure that’s deserving of a jersey retirement.

Demar should definitely get his jersey retired. How him and Lowry took a franchise that was finished like 22-60 at one point to have 50 win seasons, and top of the east was amazing.

If we’re being honest you can’t with a straight face be okay with Vince getting a banner but be against DeMar. DeMar was the first homegrown all star who wanted to remain in Toronto. He leads the franchise in several categories and had the misfortune of running into LeBrons quest of winning a chip for the Cavs. If you exclude players that didn’t win a chip then Vince shouldn’t be up there, and Kawhi, Siakam, FVV and Gasol all have legitimate claims (in that order). Raptors could have resolved this with some sort of ring of honor or hall for players like Stoudemire, Carter, Bosh, DeRozan, Kawhi, Gasol, Ibaka, Fred and Gasol. Lowry and Arguably Siakam would be the only two deserving a banner in terms of chip, #s and being a part of th franchise from the start.
They should use iconic moments for the pictures. Vince’s is fine because we know he was the bestin-game dunker the NBA has ever seen. Kyle’s should be celebrating the championship. Demar doesn’t really have any iconic moments though… maybe there’s a picture of him celebrating a win against Cleveland? Draft night possibly?
Aaron Baynes also needs his jersey retired
If DeRozan goes up, Kawhi should too.

So are they going to do the banners all the same colour now or are they going to be different colours? IMO it should be a unified colour like the Leafs ones, looks sloppy and like the franchise can’t settle on a colour if they’re all different. VC is already purple soo
