Daily Puck Drop: Coug fans don’t show up. Pulling for Lamar Jackson.

Daily Puck Drop: Coug fans don’t show up. Pulling for Lamar Jackson.

On today’s Daily Puck Drop, Jason “Puck” Puckett was joined by Chris Egan, KING 5 for his weekly visit. Jim Moore, the Go-2-Guy and handicapper Troy West had the Friday off.

Puck opened up the show by discussing a topic for Cougar fans, why aren’t you showing up to home games? Puck asks the audience why they don’t go and gives his thoughts to why fans don’t attend games, especially fans from the West side. The common theme from the audience was cost. Puck wonders what the school and community can do to make it more cost affordable to attend games.

Chris Egan, KING 5, joins Jason “Puck” Puckett for his weekly chat brought to you by Fatzach’s Pizza. Egan and Puck jump right into the issues with the Seattle Seahawks and just how far are they away from winning a championship? Should they pay D.K. Metcalf and Geno Smith in the offseason?

Puck asks Egan the same question that Ryan Divish asked Puck this week, which Seattle professional team is the closest to winning a championship? The teams are the Seahawks, Mariners, Kraken and Husky football. Egan agreed with Puck and Divish that the Seattle Mariners are the closest team in Seattle to winning a championship. The main reason is that the Mariners have the best pitching staff in baseball and the best catcher in baseball. Those other teams don’t have the best anything.

Egan and Puck shifted the conversation to middle school sports and why their is a lack of coaching at that level, because Puck and Egan are now coaching basketball because their schools don’t have anyone that has stepped up. Why are adults and teachers not coaching anymore? The number one reason is that they don’t want to deal with parents.

Egan also highlights a busy night in high school football as the state playoffs get underway.

Lastly, “Hey, What the Puck!?” Puck talks about Kirk Herbstreit and the loss of his dog Ben. If you have a dog you understand the impact that dogs have on you and your family. They really are a major part of your family.

  1. I went to WSU 04-06 and always bugged me how the Student Section was never full and people left at half. I also went to Oregon State and that didn’t happen at OSU it was full usually until the end, but that was during Erickson and the Fiesta Bowl team when the Beavs were really good.

  2. The Phillies have the best starting pitching in baseball. Our staff is good, not great. Luis Castillo is a 5th starter at best at this point in his career. As far as the other pitchers, how much of an advantage is it when they don't throw more than 80 or 90 pitches 😂.
