Dominik Hasek on Datsyuk’s HOF induction and the Ukrainian War

  1. I love Dom but can’t agree with this statement, It’s easy to denounce the war If you happen to live outside Russia but to live in the country and publicly denouncing Putin and the war gets you a one way ticket out a window.

  2. Dom grew up in the USSR in a war-torn area. He’s very justified to view Russia and their attempts to expand into former USSR areas as he does.

  3. I appreciate what Hasek is saying, but PD risks the safety of his family. It’s not as simple as it’s being made out for the Russian people to speak out.

  4. Man I guess I get it. But I didn’t publicly denounce the Iraq war but that doesn’t mean I supported it.

If I was Pav’s I wouldn’t either, I’d want to be able to go home and ensure the safety of my family.

  5. Ovechkin is best friends with Putin and has been in many pictures with him and publicly endorsed Putin.

All which is brutal, big difference from another citizen like Pavel who can’t say anything because they’re worried a family member will fall out of a window.

  6. Keeping the conversation going about Ukraine is Dom’s goal here. He knows Pav won’t/can’t say anything.

  7. It’s easy to denounce things behind a keyboard with no worry due to America being allowed free speech.

  8. I think all of the flopping around on the ice resulted in some CTE. Every time he says something now, it’s stupid.

Datsyuk is not responsible for Putin’s war. Regular Russians cannot be shit on for the actions of a dictator.

  9. Didn’t Datsyuk get into drama with the Russian military over supporting a Navalny ally a few years back? Pretty sure he’s not a Putin guy…

  10. I can’t wait to find out haseks account got hacked a year ago but doesn’t know because he doesn’t give a shit about Twitter
