How do they come up with this stuff (NY Post idea to trade for Correa)

  1. The NY post is only good for starting fires.
It makes 0 sense when Willy Adames is right there, if either team wanted to do that.

  2. Invalidate a contract offer due to long term concern over durability and injury ❌

Trade for same player that missed half a season due to durability and injury issues ✅

  3. I don’t hate it, especially if we’re dumping McNeil or Marte in the deal like he suggested.

  4. We dodged a bullet the first time. He hasn’t lived up to the deal because he’s injured so often. Also, why does Sherman assume that Mets fans are cool with cheaters? Just because they didn’t impact us head to head doesn’t mean we don’t have integrity. Fuck the Asterisks.

  5. Even if you entertain the idea, idk why Minnesota would try to offload Correa with all the insurance they have on that contract. While also being familiar first hand with his medicals.

They’re in a really good spot.

  6. The solutions for 1B/3B that are better than Correa:

    1.Pete/Vientos

    2. Vientos/Bregman

    3. Vlad Jr/Vientos

    4. Adames/Vientos

    5. Vientos/Mauricio or Baty

  7. You don’t go to Shake Shack for healthy food and you shouldn’t read the NY Post hoping for reasonable analysis. Sherman’s job is to generate clicks, which he did.

  8. He was on the IL a lot even just last year. No thanks. Had a good average in 2024 but had about 200 or so less at bats than a healthy player. Don’t need players dropping during next season. Especially if we trade away players that play the same positions.

  9. Not happening and a random idea, but not the *worst* idea assuming it would work out like Stanton, meaning we give up pretty much nothing of value and also dump Marte or something. In addition, we’d have to have no faith in any of our upcoming position player prospects panning out. Which is actually possible, but not a given and unless Stearns doesn’t like any of them I see no reason to be that negative. Plus Vientos is at 3B and it only makes sense to move him to 1B if Alonso walks IMO, which I do not want to happen. I’m sure he’d be willing to do it for Lindor but idk how Correa playing 2B would work. So basically no, but I’ve seen so many worse ideas from the media. Just wait, Jim Duquette is going to propose something insane soon.

  10. No f’ing way lol. Twins got him in that crazy offseason and both the Giants and Mets are excited things fell through.
