[Park] Carlos Santana said earlier this summer that it would mean a lot to him to finally win his first career Gold Glove. At age 38, he’s done it. He’s the first Twins Gold Glover since 2017 (Buxton, Dozier) and the first Twins 1B to win it since Doug Mientkiewicz.

  1. Dude earned it! I’ve said here earlier I watched 140 games and he was lights out! He was a gold glover this year!

  2. If only the Tweet read “… and the first Twins 1B to win it since Joe Mauer” because 2017 was absolute robbery

But also congrats to Carlos! Should help his FA stock a bit as he finds a team for his age 39 season. I’ll always appreciate the effort he put in this year

  3. Well deserved. I think I’ll always envision him doing a cartwheel while fielding a grounder to first this season. Dude was unbelievably good over there!

  4. After watching the World Series, the Yankees sure could have used him this year! Lol.
Would really really (_really really_) like to have him back for another year, but if not, he could etch his permanent place in my list of favorite Twins by taking a bag from NY and beginning an age 39 decline in productivity.
