I hope he keeps passing it, the shots will fall eventually and we’ll see some crazy assist games for JT + the Celtics will be better for it.
How can you see potential assists?
Technically couldn’t every time you pass the ball be considered a potential assist in basketball?
We don’t take too many forced shots either, we’ve been settling for 3s a bit the last two games but these are mostly guys missing open to wide open shots. Also facing very physical defenses. Good trend for JT and the team.
Holiday hasn’t hit a three in 2 games and Hauser has been struggling bad shooting threes. JT should’ve had close to 10 assists in both the last 2 games minimum
What is a typical ratio of potential:actual assists?
Tatum threw some dimes yesterday and his playmaking has been great but potential assists might be the dumbest stat in the universe. There’s no distinction between good and bad shots. It literally just says “this is the amount of times x player was the 2nd to last player with the ball in a possession.”
We know Tatum’s a good passer by watching the games we don’t need this dumbass fake statistic to back it up.
Past 2 seasons specifically Tatum really makes sure he’s gonna make a positive impact no matter what his shot chart is looking like. This is why he’s my favorite player.
Idk how to interpret this, as in what is the league average of potential vs actual assists, etc.
