Some team probably gives him a minor league deal next year. We’ll see if he breaks camp with an MLB team in 2025.
That was expected when they optioned him to triple-A.
Still remembering all of posts of people freaking out about him hitting like .400 in like 20 at bats. By the end of the season, he didn’t even make their post season roster.
Oh brother, this guy stinks!
Now he can go home to mom instead of just waving to her. Win-win.
I had a back and forth with someone here who did the math and was adamant about Eloy hitting 600 career HRs. I pointed out how ridiculous the expectation was and he was being supported by others here! Wish I could find that convo – and this is coming from someone who expected good production from the guy. What a shame
And we’re on the hook for $1.5 million of his buyout
Sox offering him a minor league deal wouldn’t be the worse thing in the world
Probably a minor league deal or NPB/KBO deal
Saint Theo knew all about EJ. Dombrowski played the Sox to grab Moncada instead of Devers.
Hi mom! Can I move into the basement?
Just when we thought we were out he pulls us back in
He’s toast.
It’s a move the blue jays would make like they did with Votto
Hahahaha
Baltimore has too many good players. Eloy will find a place
Eloy reminds me of the old Spike Jones song parody: “Hawaiian War Chant”. Part of the lyrics go like this: “As our tour boat sinks slowly in the West . . .” Seriously, after this year and after the probable end of Eloy’s MLB career, some listening to Spike Jones would be a good thing for us all. I recommend “Cocktails For Two” and “Beetlebomb” as well as the “Hawaiian War Chant”, but there are hundreds of others.
Bob Costas called him ELROY.
Well….think of it this way. Now Eloy and Moncada can both injure themselves while watching the games.
Imagine what Eloy’s going to have to pay out of pocket for health insurance.
Wouldnt be shocked if he went somewhere and turned it around. Hes always been talented. Injuries. A shit locker room. And then a trade def havent helped him. Hes the kinda guy who goes to pit or cin or tb where there isnt weight of expectations and rebuilds his career.
Good news is he’ll be able to say Hi to his mom in person next year…
I want to find the Cubs scout who thought he was a five tool player and laugh in his face!

Bring him home!
Eloy hasn’t been good in ages. I’m not surprised.
