Fuck yes!!!
This is awesome! Hopefully our window stays open for a few years
I’d like to see the money, but I like this with that club option. This also likely gives us room to move Singer in a trade if something comes up.
Edit: 3/51 with a 4th year club option. Nice.
oh yeah we running it back lets goo
Wow Wacha
LETS FUCKING GO
THANK GOD, we don’t have to worry about starting pitching! Lugo, Ragans, and Wacha staying, huge
Amazing news!
Hell yes!!?
Honestly expected him to walk. Great job to get this done and give the rotation some more stability; this solidifies the top 3 spots and allows for some competition between Singer, Marsh, Wright, and maybe even Bubic for the final 2 spots. I still wouldn’t even hate bringing back Lorenzen on a one year deal to be a swingman/5th starter type again
edit: contract is 3 years, $51 million with the club option for a 4th year, so the AAV isn’t that different from what we were already paying him
Just need to get a couple bats in free agency or trade and we should be set
HOLY FUCK WE RE-SIGNED HIM! Now to get a bat or two!
Life as JJ Piccolo’s strongest soldier has never been easier
Judging by what we know now: Do you see them moving Singer to the #4 spot?
JJ Piccolo baller era???
I wonder if signing Wacha gives them the confidence to deal Singer? I’m fine if they keep him, but I wouldn’t be upset if they traded him for some offense.
They In fact listened to me
About damn time.
LET’S GO
i stand by my belief the window is open and will be open for a few years here as is
Love this for a lot of reasons, but something that can’t be overlooked, I think, is the fact that this got done early, before the Hot Stove really got going. To me, this could be a signal to other potential FA’s that the Royals are serious about competing.
Massive!!! OUR CORE IS SET
We’re going for it again! Come on spring training! I’m pumped for 2025!
Glad Cleveland didn’t get him
What kind of hitter could we realistically get for Singer?
Fuck yeah. Wacha deserves it. He was awesome for us last season.
Hey that’s cool
Let’s goooooo! This bodes well for the off-season.
Wow
Called it.
Heck yeah! Now sign 3+ hitters!
Awww snap we’re looking to double down. Exciting!

All joking aside, I’m really pleased that Michael Wacha agreed to this new contract.
That means we won’t have to worry about KC’s stronget starting pitcher rotation (Wacha/Ragans/Lugo). Lugo is still under contract from 2023, and I don’t think Ragans is going anywhere after the successful 2024 postseason year.
Which means that the Royals can focus on beefing up their offense to support Bobby Witt Jr. Michael Massey, Salvy Perez, and Vinnie Pasquantino is a good start, but they need more heavy hitters to load bases. They got the defensive formula down with the awesome starter pitcher line-up and plenty of backup from the bullpen, but offensive is their Achille’s heel that they need to work on, and that was definitely seen against the Yankees.
Hopefully they can get things ironed out before the start of the season in 2025.
But this new contract is a stuff in the right direction.

What do you guys think of Eloy Jimenez? Very highly touted coming up and still only 27. The Orioles opted out of 16.5 million. Back in the Central might motivate him. Could be a steal. We def need an upgrade in LF. I LOVE MJ but right now he is a fourth OF.
Glad to have him back. Would have preferred a 2+1 but this is the cost of doing business for a good starter. Nice to keep our 1-2-3 punch intact for another season.
Great. That is a big step to keep winning
