  1. Mets IF for 2025 could be 100% los mets to make right field comfy? But Adames over Pete? For the same money? That seems silly af. Why have Soto and adames instead of Soto and Pete? Makes no sense. U loose production for the same money. I don’t buy it.

  2. Pete was a very serviceable 1st baseman. Idk if I ever said this guy sucks and can’t play here while watching. And Pete’s 150% better than Adames. Pete will be a new man with this contract done. U could see it after the Hr in brewers game. Rest of playoffs he was calm and cool knowing he was good.

  3. What if we trade our middle infielders for Crochet because that’s what our top prospects are,and that’s what the white Sox want,Adames could come to play Second if that happens and not third

  4. If getting Adames means either not keeping Jessie Winker ot having trouble in the camp of yo keep both then id rather have Winker…to me he's a dog you want on your team and a lefty bat.

  5. Evan thanks for making my point for me, someone told me I dont know baseball and Adames was a no doubt better player than Winker!!, I am not a baseball savant but i beg to differ. Your review of the stats show that he may have had a marginally better year than Winker and cant even outpace Pete.

  6. Adames makes a lot more sense for teams like the Braves and Dodgers, both of whom really don't have a full-time shortstop, then Adames does going to the Mets. Unless the Mets don't sign Soto and Pete. And thanks to Soto and Pete, Adames is going to make a lot more funny in free agency than he would otherwise if these teams and potentially the Yankees and Red Sox weren't also linked to him as a secondary FA option. Adames would be a rotational utility player for the Dodgers a shortstop for the Braves and a third baseman and fill-in at second for the Mets. He would be a third baseman for the Yankees. I don't see a point in comparing Pete's career offensive numbers with Adames.because their signing isn't contingent on making a choice between them based on their production. You either sign one or the other because they fit in your team-building plans or they don't.

  7. Your wrong about vientos defense at first. He would be a defender at first then pete. All you have to do is imagine Pete playing 5 third.

Mets do need new 3b. Vientos is can’t field the position well

  8. It’s dishonest to compare a SS’s stats to a 1B’s no matter if Adames is going to play 3B for the Mets. That’s like comparing Alonso’s numbers to a Catchers. First baseman’s numbers should only be compared to 1B & DH that’s it. I’m sorry but I’d much rather pay Adames or even a trade for a 3B and pay Christian Walker much less and a lot shorter term contract than pay Pete a massive contract longer than 4 years. Guys like Alonso fall off a cliff fast and the last thing anyone wants on this team for 7 years is a Joey Gallo.

  9. I agree, the Mets had no ace last year. They had a rotation with guys who fluctuated in numerical status top to bottom of the rotation based on their performance as the season went along especially in Senga's absence. In the end, Senga was an unlikely starter with Manaea and Severino, the top two rotational arms followed by Peterson even though his postseason was spent as a combination longman and starter.Quintana was an innings eater, last in the rotation who was effective and productive down the stretch.

  10. I know what Alonso is worth and that's why I don't get why so many fans for the last 2 years have been talking about moving on from him, as if he is a dime a dozen. It's ridiculous how impatient people are. If we don't get to keep Pete I'm not gonna be happy. Because we're not only letting go of a guy who loves the game, is fun to watch; we are letting go of 30-45 HR and 80-100+ RBI a year walk too. And yes we all know Pete can't throw too well, but his defense is really good and his base running isn't bad, he has improved a lot here and sneaks steals too…

Definitely enjoying your offseason content more. LGM!

  11. Pete will be gone. Stearns likes players who get on base and make contact. Pete does neither of these things. He is your traditional all or nothing slugger who is a bottom feeder.
