If you didn’t like those last 5 seconds you don’t like Rockets basketball
Sengun was the best player tonight. Tari is a chaos agent who creates so many opportunities for us on defense and can make his shots. Probably our second best player tonight. And should be eyeing that contract and starter spot.
Amen walls up on D. Reed is still very timid and passing up looks when we need him to space first and foremost, but he slowly seems to be looking for his shot more and is actually holding his own on D. That vertical helps with surprise rebounds too, getting an OREB that helped our run in the 3rd.
Just so many questions with Ime’s offense and rotations. Sengun has been our best player this game and he plays less than Fred, Dillon, and Jalen. Fred has been ass more often than not this season so far and has been bad at setting up our already basic and limited offense. Lots of time Sengun has to bail us out on a grenade shot or Jalen goes cold because Fred and Dillon get too many touches. Dillon can make shots, but should not be getting that many plays drawn for him. Jalen couldn’t make his shots, but at least he can hold his own on defense.
Jock Landale was useless today, and you could’ve ran Jabari in his place even if he didn’t make shots. Apparently Jock also had strong words for Ime when he got benched. Jabari just couldn’t knock down his open corner threes, and he took two questionable ISO threes early in the clock. Just not providing a lot of value out there. Tari is only getting closer on that rear view mirror. But Fred is the most disappointing with how he isn’t making shots, putting out young players in bad positions on offense, and he’s not even that great defensively this season. Jalen should be getting more of Fred’s ball handling duties especially.
Also, Ime has been great for the defense and culture, but the offense is such a glaring issue. Players are struggling, and the coaching plays a major role.
Wins a win but there is still a lot of work to be done. Which I hope means there’ll be major development over the course of the season.
GG. Defense is nasty
why does this team always make these things so hard for themselves 😭 they love the dramatic endings I guess.
That Jalen dunk though

That was an ugly game to watch…
Not the last time Houston defeats Detroit today
On his NUGGET
Man I LOVE Tari Eason
Whew.
on his NUGGET
Those refs were trying hard to rig that shit at the end!
Tari post game interview is hilarious

Tobias didn’t miss that second free throw on accident
Could have used Adams today. Landale was absolutely useless for playing 17 minutes
Easy game made difficult by Ime.
I will genuinely begin to question Ime if he continues to play Tari the same amount of minutes as Jabari. Can’t have that net negative on the floor for same amount of time as someone who impacts winning as Eason.
Tobias Harris when he needs to do the simplest thing in all of basketball after they get bailed out by the refs

Sengun goes directly to the locker room. He doesn’t look happy to me.
Jalen Green is a tough shot taker, not a tough shot maker
Ime should really sart considering putting Tari in the starting rotation and maybe let Bari get some run against other teams benches.
Team was little bit all over the place but I’m happy Alpi seems to have gotten his touch back. Also Tari is just a great hustler. Makes something out of nothing and very effective on scoring.
Sengun made us stay in the game, Tari made us win tonight.
Bench Bari, tell Fred to stop jacking up shots, and give kudos to Sengun. Tari, we ride at dawn
![gif](giphy|27Z2RxOE7YImmNny0t)
Our starting guards took 30 shots. 13 of them were 3s.
Jalen went to the foul like 1x tonight.
Ime has to create an offense.
Those 3s are just proof that it’s the only thing we can create out there other than an iso from Jalen or Sengun.
As the teams get better, those forced turnovers and transition baskets aren’t going to be there. He needs to address this asap.
Tari, Segun, FVV and DB bailed us out on this one. Sengun and Tari have a near perfect game. Tari just did all those intangible things that saved a couple last positions and the game.
I question Ime’s coaching ! Do we even have a plan ? Team plays so random, Ime benches our best scorer but let’s 0 pointers to continue the game ! It should be a comfartable win !!!! By the way 27 points of Shengun mostly self made team doesnt play through him !
Udoka: Hey we’re ahead by 12 points, let’s put Sengun on the bench.
5 minutes later:
Udoka: Fuck. We’re behind. Let’s put Sengun back in the game.
several minutes later:
Udoka: We’re ahead by 5 points. Sengun out!
a few seconds later:
Udoka: We’re likely to lose the match. Sengun, get in the game!
Sengun after the match: He went straight to the locker room in anger and with some “finding his rhythm” problems.
It sometimes feels like Ime is trying to win games without Sengun. He iced him twice on the bench today for no apparent reason.
Amen and Tari makes a couple of steals through individual effort, and Ime thinks he found a winning formula. That’s what a fucking bench spark is. They kindle the flame, and you try to burn it further by bringing your best players in.
We are playing boneheaded basketball. The lack of creativity is literally hurting my brain, and all our coaches say is to “Be more physical”. I know defense is Ime’s calling card, but it’s his 2nd year in here. We should have been seeing more advanced plays than what we could see in a high school playbook by now.
Ime almost cost us this win. Alpi had the hot hand, what does he do? Bench him for a long freakin time and put jock in there who really sucked tn. And left him in there. And he still leaves FVV in there who kept shooting us out of the game.
Tari is amazing.
Ime Udoka doesn’t fucking know what he is doing.
That’s all.
