The last foul ball ever hit into the stands at the Metrodome

This ball right here is the final foul ball ever hit at the Metrodome! It was during the ALDS against the Yankees in 2009. It was our final chance to come back in the bottom of the 9th to keep the series alive. Delmon Young was up at bat. Mariano Rivera was closing for the Yankees. I had the dumb luck of having a friend sell me a ticket for a seat in the 20-something row on the first base line. I still have the ticket stub packed away. Anyway, eventually Delmon hit a monster line drive directly at me. I may came in very hot but I somehow avoided direct contact and the ball landed right between my feet. I immediately grabbed it and raised my arms over head triumphantly while noticing I was on the Jumbotron. Great moment! That was Delmon’s second strike, if I remember correctly. Anyway, we fizzled out and lost the game shortly thereafter. The season was over and the era of the Metrodome was finished forever.
Being the young dumbass I was, I had no clue at the time that I had to authenticate it that night at the stadium. So, ignorantly, I went to the new Twins Headquarters recently opened at the new stadium the next morning thinking the Jumbotron footage or television footage could back me up, but they turned quickly me away.
So, I missed the chance to verify it for the sake of posterity, but I’m happy to have it and I’m more than pleased to have a ball with Mariano Rivera’s DNA all over it from the very last Twins game ever played in the Metrodome!
