Giants to ‘evaluate’ QB position after Daniel Jones struggles – ESPN

Finally. We just cannot allow that injury guarantee to kick in next year. There's nothing else to say. Jones stinks. The contract has been a disaster. Time to move on.

I swear to god if Daboll comes and says “we are sticking with jones” after this bye week I will lose it. I know everyone wants jones to stay in because he’s awful but seriously this injury clause would be awful. Lock or Tommy aren’t any better but if they get hurt it wont cost 40 million dollars.
gotta do it for the injury clause alone. there’s no reason for jones to ever take another snap for the giants.

I haven’t seen it mentioned since but I really thought I saw DJ holding back tears after the game. I feel like this was it.
Edit: I’ll add that it would be the best course of action for both parties. We avoid the injury clause and still tank, as well as having a breath of fresh air and a change for once. On the other hand, DJ will stop making fans so angry and will most likely stop receiving hate which he doesn’t deserve on a personal level. He’s a good guy, just happens to suck as a pro QB. It’s not his fault coaches and FO ain’t benching him.
I’ve already evaluated it, it’s not good.
Cutting DJ and a few other minor players will give us $70M cap next year. Pretty solid.
At this point, I’d be willing to see Yeah Yeahs sister play qb.
His best games have come at the worst possible times for the franchise somehow.
If we stop playing him, who am I going to hate on every Sunday?

Here comes Devito! He’ll rip off three wins in December, charge 10k for appearances at an Italian restaurant, his agent will be wearing that dumb hat again, and they drop out of a top draft position. The Giants even suck and sucking.
Guys I still believe in Jones. I say extend his contract another six years. He will prove everyone wrong I know it.
Dabolls talking about the flea flicker play is just wild:
“I wish I had [that play] back,” Daboll said. “I wish I had it back. Didn’t work.”
But the receivers were open?

I’m sorry, but what? Why are you taking the blame for this play call, when Jones can’t see two wide open receivers in the center of the field?

Would be hilarious if they throw devito in there and he just starts slinging to nabers and lights it up with actual players to throw to. I mean, I’m 99.9% it’s not gonna happen, but it would be funny (and by light it up I don’t mean fuck up a chance for a qb, I mean light it up and he himself becomes the guy). My honest hope is he slings it around, throws enough TDs to keep us entertained but probably has a 1-1 TD-INT ratio so we still lose and can draft our next QB

72 starts is crazy. There isn’t a QB that has played worse and had a longer leash.
Only thing to evaluate is what QB you’re going to draft.
