It’s gotta be because it’s Giannis that so many people think these closeouts are reckless, it’s not like he’s extending into their landing area even
His jumpshot also has one of the biggest leg swings in the league. Hard to avoid closing out under him when his landing space is triple most other jumpshots.

Giannis is not cautious on his foot placement after contesting a shot and while it is such a simple thing, it can cause huge injuries. We have seen Kawhi Leonard miss an entire season because of this.
And it is not just for the opponents but for himself too. We have seen guys contest a shot, where the shooter lands on the ground first, and the defender lands on THEIR feet and get injured.
I agree that Tatum does swing his legs a little in his form but we have also seen Giannis not being careful with his feet and going under the landing zone.
